Position Summary</h3>
The Buyer / Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end purchasing process for projects, overhead, and office needs. You will ensure materials are acquired on time and within budget while maintaining strict financial records. This role acts as a vital link between Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, and our vendors, ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly. 
 
Pay Range: $25-$35<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
Key Responsibilities</h3>
Procurement &amp; Vendor Management<ul><li>
Purchase materials, equipment, and office supplies for projects and overhead accounts.</li><li>
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while actively sourcing and establishing new vendor partnerships (including credit applications and W9s).</li><li>
Manage secondary sourcing and identify product equivalents to meet material arrival deadlines.</li><li>
Handle lease agreements and rentals for project equipment and office machinery (e.g., copiers).</li><li>
Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and manage consignment purchases.</li></ul>
Accounting &amp; Reporting<ul><li>
Ensure proper posting of project material costs to the accounting system.</li><li>
Review invoices for price variances against purchase orders or quotes.</li><li>
Update purchase orders with confirmations, tracking information, and receipts.</li><li>
Maintain the SRC Material Database price table and standard bill of materials with current vendor pricing.</li><li>
Key Performance Indicators: You will be responsible for maintaining specific metrics, including a requisition processing time of &lt;48 hours and weekly reporting on backorders and material lead times.</li></ul>
Inventory &amp; Systems<ul><li>
Maintain detailed records tying requisitions to purchase orders.</li><li>
Add material descriptions and enter Part Sale jobs into the Computer-Ease Inventory system.</li><li>
Maintain vendor price lists in SharePoint.</li><li>
Assist Project Managers and Estimators during the re-estimate process by obtaining accurate vendor quotes.</li></ul>
Operational Support<ul><li>
Serve as a backup for the Inventory and Warehouse Specialist, assisting with shipping/receiving, material staging, and controlling access to inventory/tool cages.</li><li>
Manage general administrative duties and filing of material requisitions.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h3><ul><li>
Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.</li><li>
Familiarity with accounting principles and job costing.</li><li>
Proficiency with inventory management software (experience with Computer-Ease is a plus).</li><li>
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines (e.g., 48-hour requisition turnaround).</li><li>
Excellent communication skills for negotiating with vendors and collaborating with internal teams.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
