This position would work directly with our tax department. The tax team serves a variety of clients including individuals, businesses, not for profit organizations, trusts, and various other entities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES<ul><li>Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns</li><li>Communicate with clients to gather supporting documents</li><li>Identify tax problems and developing solutions.</li><li>Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns</li><li>Supervising members of the tax team to ensure that tax returns are completed correctly</li><li>Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation</li><li>Prepare/review technical tax memorandum</li><li>Communicate with tax authorities to resolve notices</li><li>Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process</li><li>Train and mentor staff on procedures and policies</li></ul>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>BS/BA in Accounting (Master&rsquo;s in Accounting/Tax preferred)</li><li>5 to 8 years&rsquo; experience in Public Accounting</li><li>Experience preparing individual and closely held businesses and pass-thru (S Corp and Partnership) tax returns</li><li>Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and budgets</li><li>Proficient accounting, analytical, and research skills along with a desire to continue to grow professionally</li><li>Ability to communicate pertinent information to partners, managers and clients</li><li>Willingness to work with a team and complete administrative tasks when required</li><li>Reliable transportation and ability to work in-person in the Charlotte office multiple days during the week</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>CPA License</li><li>Experience with QuickBooks</li><li>Experience with high net-worth individual and multi-state tax returns</li><li>Experience preparing exempt organization tax returns</li></ul>At Sharpe Patel PLLC, we encourage a healthy work/life balance by providing you with the tools, compensation, and benefits to achieve a high quality of life.
