As a Route Service Technician (Box Truck Driver), you will be responsible for servicing assigned accounts efficiently while delivering excellent customer service. You will operate a 26 ft. straight truck safely, comply with all DOT and state regulations, and follow company safety and compliance policies. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local regulations.</li><li>
Plan daily schedules based on customer needs by reviewing manifests, route sheets, and other documentation provided by supervisors or dispatchers.</li><li>
Prepare and load trucks with necessary supplies for daily service as required.</li><li>
Ensure customer waste is properly packaged and ready for transport.</li><li>
Deliver the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts and communicate any issues to supervisors or dispatchers.</li><li>
Secure waste, supplies, and equipment prior to operating the vehicle on public roads.</li><li>
Complete all required paperwork legibly and accurately, including DOT Driver Logs if applicable.</li><li>
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.</li><li>
Adapt to fast-paced and changing work environments while maintaining safety standards.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Two or more years of customer service experience; previous route management experience preferred.</li><li>
Completion of accredited driving school or one or more years of commercial driving experience required.</li><li>
Current driver&rsquo;s license with excellent driving record; CDL Class &ldquo;B&rdquo; preferred but not required.</li><li>
Current Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Certification (MEC).</li><li>
Must work safely and carefully to prevent injury while driving, loading, and unloading the vehicle.</li><li>
Ability to read maps and demonstrate good computer skills.</li><li>
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or handle containers and carts of varying weight (up to 150 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly; carts up to 500 pounds, items up to 75 lbs).</li><li>
Age 25 years or older with driving experience.</li><li>
Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to a dynamic work environment.</li><li>
Safety toe work boots with slip-resistant soles and a Bluetooth headphone system required.</li><li>
Covid vaccine preferred; may require mandatory immunizations and customer credentialing.</li></ul>

Route Service Technician

As a Floor Lead at Sharps Medical Waste Services, you will oversee the safe, complaints, and efficient operation of the warehouse and transfer station. You will lead a team responsible for the handling, processing, and movement of medical waste, ensuring operational productivity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. In this leadership role, you will supervise floor personnel, coordinate daily activities, manage inventory and equipment, and ensure the facility is maintained in tour-ready condition. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Directly supervise warehouse/transfer station personnel to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.</li><li>
Responsible for staging, shipping, and receiving parts, equipment, and supplies.</li><li>
Monitor staff performance and operations; recommend improvements to methods, procedures, or personnel as needed.</li><li>
Administer company policies and ensure staff compliance with safety and operational standards.</li><li>
Conduct monthly safety trainings and manage Lytx systems.</li><li>
Oversee transportation of medical waste throughout the facility.</li><li>
Maintain inventory control, including stocking, inspecting, and entering products into the inventory system.</li><li>
File necessary documentation (freight bills, packing slips, etc.) for audits and inventory reconciliation.</li><li>
Manage freight claims for damaged goods.</li><li>
 Monitor vehicle inspections, coordinate repairs, and schedule rental trucks as needed for the fleet.</li><li>
Address customer service issues and support overall warehouse and supply chain management.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>
Six months to one year of warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>
Forklift experience preferred.</li><li>
Two or more years of customer service experience; previous warehouse or route management experience is a plus.</li><li>
Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills; ability to supervise others effectively.</li><li>
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.</li><li>
Basic computer skills and attention to detail required.</li><li>
Flexibility to work days, nights, overtime, and weekends as required.</li><li>
Must maintain a valid driver&rsquo;s license with an excellent driving record.</li><li>
Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.</li><li>
Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record check.</li></ul>

Floor Leader

As a Swing Driver, you will deliver excellent service to internal and external customers while representing the company in a professional and courteous manner. You will operate straight trucks, roll offs, and tractor-trailers in compliance with DOT, state, and company safety regulations. You will service assigned accounts efficiently, ensuring customers&rsquo; waste pickup and supply delivery needs are met, while assisting at the warehouse as needed. This role includes paid training, company-provided uniforms, leading health benefits, tuition reimbursement, vacation/PTO after 90 days, Sign-On/Stay-On bonuses, and unlimited referral bonus potential. Key Responsibilities Start early daily and complete assigned Class A commercial driving routes. Move yard trailers and provide roll-off support at least 2 days per week. Cover route-based pickups as needed. Ensure waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating the vehicle on public highways. Complete all paperwork legibly, accurately, and submit to Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher. Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) Driver Logs if applicable. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles; report maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher. Follow all safety procedures to protect yourself and others while driving, loading, and unloading vehicles. Push/pull up to 150 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. Utilize Global Positioning System (GPS) and handheld devices for navigation, Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs, and Electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). Maintain current Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Certification (MEC). Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Must be 25 years or older with driving experience. Commercial Driver&rsquo;s License (CDL) Class A required. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Completion of an accredited driving school or one or more years of commercial driving experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Proficiency using technology such as GPS and handheld devices. Flexibility to assist in warehouse tasks and cover routes as needed. Must work safely and carefully to prevent injury to self and others. May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
