We are seeking a skilled Optical Design Expert to join our multidisciplinary team developing advanced opto-electronic systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and validation of optical systems used in mission-critical applications such as night vision devices, thermal imaging, targeting systems, and high-performance laser equipment.This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid foundation in applied optics and photonics, hands-on experience in design tools and lab testing, and a passion for applying innovation to real-world challenges.Role &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Design &amp; optimize Infrared, Visible and Laser optical systems, including lenses, prisms, coatings, and detectors, for defense applications.</li><li>Perform optical modeling, ray tracing, and tolerance analysis using tools such as Zemax, Code V, or OSLO.</li><li>Conduct laboratory experiments and validation tests (MTF, spectral response, environmental performance).</li><li>Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to integrate optics into complex platforms.</li><li>Support prototype development, vendor coordination, and quality assurance during manufacturing.</li><li>Ensure designs meet military and defense standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810) for ruggedization and reliability.</li><li>Prepare documentation, reports, and technical inputs for project reviews and compliance requirements.</li><li>Interface with electrical, mechanical, software and systems engineers on multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Provide technical input during feasibility studies, system architecture, and proposal phases.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>Minimum Master&rsquo;s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Optics, Photonics, or related discipline (PHD/higher qualification preferred).</li><li>5&ndash;8 years of experience in optical design, prototyping, or manufacturing within defense, aerospace, or high-tech industries.</li><li>Proficiency in optical design and simulation software (Zemax, Code V, OSLO, or equivalent).</li><li>Strong understanding of optical materials (e.g., germanium, silicon, ZnSe) and coatings for UV, VIS, NIR, MWIR, and LWIR applications.</li><li>Hands-on lab experience with optical testing equipment (interferometers, spectrophotometers, alignment tools).</li><li>Familiarity with defense compliance standards and documentation protocols.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Do u have Master&rsquo;s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Optics, Photonics, or related discipline (PHD/higher qualification preferred)?</li><li>Do u have 5&ndash;8 years of experience in optical design, prototyping, or manufacturing within defense, aerospace, or high-tech industries?</li><li>Do u have Proficiency in optical design and simulation software (Zemax, Code V, OSLO, or equivalent)?</li><li>Do u have Strong understanding of optical materials (e.g., germanium, silicon, ZnSe) and coatings for UV, VIS, NIR, MWIR, and LWIR applications?</li><li>Do u have experties in Design &amp; optimize Infrared, Visible and Laser optical systems, including lenses, prisms, coatings, and detectors, for defense applications?</li></ul>Work Location: In person
