<div>Project Accountant I at Shiel Sexton

The Project Accountant I position with Shiel Sexton is an onsite entry level accounting position which requires basic project/cost (construction) accounting, a high level of detail, accuracy, and timeliness with strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities. The successful candidate will have experience in processing monthly project billings as well as strong accounts payable experience.

Responsibilities include:
<ul>
<li>Preparation of project billings using an ERP accounting system (Vista Viewpoint) and in AIA format</li>
<li>Processing and reviewing project payables and reviewing subcontractor billing documents for completeness.</li>
<li>Project support partnering with the Project Operations Team</li>
<li>Project Accounting Team support with Vendor Statements</li>
<li>Accounting department accounts payable email distribution</li>
<li>Miscellaneous accounts payable assignments</li>
<li>Using independent judgement and discretion to identify problems and making recommendations for solutions</li>
</ul>
Skills/Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Accounting degree preferred; relevant accounting experience accepted</li>
<li>One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Construction Accounting</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of accounts payable processing</li>
<li>Understanding of AIA Forms</li>
<li>Experience in ERP Accounting System (Vista Viewpoint preferred)</li>
<li>Knowledge of subcontract commitments and purchase orders</li>
<li>Understanding of retainage principles</li>
</ul>

The Accounting Assistant position with Shiel Sexton is an entry level accounting position which requires proficiency in general accounting, a high level of detail, accuracy, and timeliness with strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities. The successful candidate will have experience in accounts payable and process improvement.

Additional responsibilities include:
<ul>
<li>Accurate and timely routing of accounts payables</li>
<li>Review and reconciliation of vendor statements</li>
<li>Entry level accounts payable and expense report entry</li>
<li>General support for project accounting team</li>
<li>Using independent judgement and discretion to identify problems and making recommendations for solutions</li>
</ul>
 Skills/Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>1-3 years experience in accounts payable</li>
<li>Experience in ERP Accounting System (Vista Viewpoint preferred)</li>
</ul>
