<p><b>Position Summary:</b></p>
<p>Signature Addiction Medicine (SAM) services is looking for an innovative, dynamic individual to join our program that provides opioid use disorder treatment. We are outcomes driven and have a strong focus on the holistic well-being of the patient. We have been watching the opioid epidemic grow in Massachusetts and around the nation, and we are motivated to provide patient centered services that will make a difference. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility to join us. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for MOUD prescriptions of buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone). This individual is also responsible for the completeness of all medical aspects of the medical record.</p><br>

<p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul><li>Ensure that appropriate laboratory studies have been performed and reviewed, as needed</li>
<li>Ensure that a medical evaluation, including a medical history, has been performed at admission</li>
<li>Completes physical examinations, procedures, lab specimens and records results. Presents medical forms for the program physician&rsquo;s evaluation, consultation and signature.</li>
<li>Ensure that evidence of current physiologic dependence, length of history of addiction, or exceptions to criteria for admission are documented in the patient&rsquo;s record before the patient receives the initial prescription for Medication for Opioid Use Disorder.</li>
<li>Work with clinical and other providers, such as Medical Director, Peer Recovery Coach, Medical Assistant and Program Director and various departmental staff to coordinate care with the team.</li>
<li>Participate in meetings as necessary.</li>
<li>Assists patients in referral services for other medical issues (co-occurring illnesses) and other medical needs</li>
<li>Continuous quality improvement (conduct in-service and patient education)</li>
<li>Ensures our treatment complies with State Regulations, HIPAA and 42 CRF Part 2 Standards

</p><p><b>BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:</b></p>
<ul><li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
</li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
</li><li>Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.</li></ul><br>

<div><ul><li><b>Education:</b> Master&rsquo;s degree in Nursing form an accredited college or university</li></ul>
<ul><li><b>Experience </b><i>(Type &amp; Length):</i> One year experience as an NP in a treatment setting that prescribes medication for opioid use disorder
</li></ul><ul><li><b>Certification/Licensure: </b>Licensed with the state of MA as a Nurse Practitioner; Current DEA License; Waivered to prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone)

</li><li>Reports significant alterations in patient&rsquo;s condition to physician.
</li><li>Counsels, educate, and includes patients and their families in accordance with the overall plan of care.
</li><li>Assists patient and family in coping with stress accompanying illness; offering solace and support to the dying.
</li><li>Quality of Care: systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
</li><li>Individual Practice Evaluation: reflects knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws, regulations, and changes in health care delivery, in daily practice.
</li><li>Education: acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in the care of patients.
</li><li>Collegiality: interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and other healthcare providers as colleagues.
</li><li>Ethics: decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner.
</li><li>Collaboration: collaborates with the team, consisting of patient, family, and healthcare providers, in providing patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
