Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist with a patient's treatment program in accordance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
<ul><li> Provides direct treatment to residents as directed by and according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Documents resident progress towards meeting established goals.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Teaches exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers and may provide instruction in the use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.</li></ul>

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li> Associate Degree from an APTA accredited program

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
<ul><li>Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains confidentiality of patient records.</li></ul>
<ul><li>May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.</li></ul> 


Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills: 

<ul><li>Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.</li></ul>
<ul><li>One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.</li></ul></div>
