Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Apparel &amp; Textile R&amp;D Designer to join our creative team. Your passion for fashion design, combined with technical expertise in textile science and product development, will drive the creation of trendsetting collections and sustainable solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of apparel and textile design through research, experimentation, and collaboration.Duties<ul><li>Conduct extensive research on emerging textile technologies, fabric properties, and fashion trends to inform innovative design concepts.</li><li>Develop detailed prototypes and samples using CAD software and garment construction techniques to bring ideas to life.</li><li>Collaborate closely with product development teams, merchandisers, and manufacturers to ensure seamless integration of new textiles into final products.</li><li>Utilize Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator to create detailed sketches, mood boards, and technical illustrations.</li><li>Experiment with color theory, fabric dyeing techniques, and sewing methods to enhance textile performance and aesthetic appeal.</li><li>Manage the entire product lifecycle from initial concept through testing, refinement, and final production using product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.</li><li>Stay informed about industry standards in fashion retail, styling trends, and sustainable practices to maintain a competitive edge.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience in fashion design or textile research with a strong portfolio demonstrating innovative textile applications.</li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD software, and PLM tools.</li><li>Solid understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and sewing machine operation.</li><li>Knowledge of fabric properties, dyeing processes, color theory, and textile testing methods.</li><li>Ability to create detailed illustrations and technical drawings for manufacturing specifications.</li><li>Familiarity with fashion retail dynamics, merchandising strategies, and fashion styling principles.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to articulate design concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Experience with graphic design or theatrical costume design is a plus but not required.
