As a Project Sales Manager, you will be working with new and existing customers to quote and sell HVAC and mechanical projects (new installations, replacements, and retrofits) in commercial settings.
Compensation aspects of the role are dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Identify, sell and project coordinate mechanical service projects to meet or exceed an annual goal.</li>
<li>Define project scope of work and deliverables to support sales team in collaboration with the Management Team</li>
<li>Establish and maintain a usable and well-communicated schedule for all phases of a project.</li>
<li>Work with the Customer, Sales Team, Management Team and or Engineering Team to ensure changes are understood and approved.</li>
<li>Lead the team to prioritize signed off HOP (Hand off Paperwork) based on analysis of strategic importance, tasks outstanding, obstacles or barriers, budgets, resources and deadlines.</li>
<li>Effectively communicate project expectations to field team, service techs and plumbers in a timely and clear fashion.</li>
<li>Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using SM Lawrence project management software and accounting (COINS) project dashboard.</li>
<li>Understand basic revenue models, project margin expectations and make decisions accordingly.</li>
<li>Attend Cost to Complete Meetings.</li>
<li>Estimate labor, materials, subcontractors and resources needed to price project proposals in cooperation with the Sales Team, Engineering Team and Management Team</li>
<li>Draft and submit proposals upon request by customers and the Sales Team.</li>
<li>Direct and manage projects from beginning to end.</li>
<li>Manage Project Budget and delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate field personnel.</li>
<li>Source, Negotiate and Coordinate Equipment Deliverables with Vendors</li>
<li>Track vendor invoices and receivables for the project.</li>
<li>Implement best practices and communicate project implementation concerns to ensure a safe environment compliant with Comfort Systems USA safety guidelines.</li>
<li>Understand S.M. Lawrence pricing model and billing procedures.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned.</li>
</ul>Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications
<ul><li>Minimum of 10 years in service and or installation of mechanical systems a strong plus &ndash; inclusive of subcontractors, general contractors, and equipment maintenance / retrofit providers.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred but not required.</li>
<li>Prior specialized sales training &ndash; Sandler Sales Training, Miller Heiman or similar training preferred.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of the following trades: Mechanical Systems, Sheet Metal, Air Distribution, Chill Water/Hot Water Piping, Hydronics, Plumbing, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical Thermostat Controls, Building Automation / Energy Management Systems, Refrigeration, and Applied and DX HVAC Systems.</li>
<li>Knowledge of all local, state and federal codes, laws and regulations in the industry.</li>
<li>Experience estimating mechanical installations, retrofits, replacements and modifications.</li>
<li>OSHA 10 hour preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other document management software.</li>
</ul>Additional Requirements

<li>Read, analyze, and interpret information, along with writing reports and business correspondence.</li>
<li>Effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external clients.</li>
<li>Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, and percentages.</li>
<li>Ability to identify customers&rsquo; needs and translate into sales opportunities.</li>
<li>Adapt to work well both individually and in a teamwork environment.</li>
<li>Comply with and promote company Safety Policy</li>
<li>Effective time management skills to support multiple projects and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and customer services skills.</li>
<li>Professional demeanor and positive, caring attitude.</li>
<li>Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.</li>
<li>Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation.</li>
<li>Ability to pass a physical ability test.</li>
<li>Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.</li>
