 We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Manager of Engineering to lead our US Server team. This role involves managing and mentoring a team of Java developers, while also providing strong technical leadership across system architecture, design, and implementation. You will guide the team in developing new product capabilities and enhancing existing ones across both our federal enclave environment and our AWS-based cloud production environment. This position includes dual responsibility across two major domains. Leading, designing, and supporting capabilities within our federal enclave, including strict compliance requirements, secure development practices, and constrained deployment workflows. Driving cloud-native development in AWS, improving our services, reliability, scalability, and efficiency with modern DevOps practices and tooling. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader, an excellent communicator, and someone who thrives in an Agile environment where mentorship, ownership, and collaboration are key.

  How will you contribute?

  <li>
   Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Java developers, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and professional development.
  </li>
  <li>
   Own technical design and architecture decisions across services deployed in both federal enclave and AWS cloud environments.
  </li>
  <li>
   Guide team members in delivering high quality, secure, and scalable backend systems.
  </li>
  <li>
   Promote engineering best practices, including code quality, system design, test coverage, DevOps, and security.
  </li>
  <li>
   Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, QA, and Security teams to ensure high quality and compliant releases.
  </li>
  <li>
   Oversee production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system tuning, and operational improvements.
  </li>

   Drive innovation, evaluate new tools and technologies, and continuously improve engineering processes.

  What will you bring?

   5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development, including strong expertise with Spring / Spring Boot.
  </li>
  <li>
   2+ years of experience leading a development team or providing significant technical leadership.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong understanding of OOP, Java internals, concurrency, and multi-threaded programming.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proven experience in designing and implementing distributed backend systems and microservices.
  </li>
  <li>
   Hands-on experience working within secure or federal enclave environments or similar highly restricted environments.
  </li>
  <li>
   Practical experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
  </li>
  <li>
   DevOps-oriented mindset, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability, automation, Docker, and Kubernetes
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong communication skills and ability to lead both people and technology.Experience with production environments, monitoring, metrics, and performance optimization.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience supporting FedRAMP-certified products.
  </li>
  <li>
   Knowledge and hands-on experience with Kafka or other event-driven messaging systems.
  </li>
  <li>
   Familiarity with Redis, Oracle, or PostgreSQL databases.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with Jenkins, Grafana, ELK, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong testing mindset (unit, component, integration).
  </li>

   Experience with large-scale microservices architectures.

 $170,000 - $190,000 a year

Smarsh is seeking a highly professional and motivated Revenue Recognition Technical Accountant to perform a variety of management and accounting duties. Qualified candidates will have a deep understanding of technical revenue accounting as relates to the software/SaaS space under ASC606. Smarsh is a quickly growing Company requiring team members to juggle multiple roles. This role will include certain revenue accounting functions for standard transactions pending expansion of the team and addition of an additional revenue accountant. This role will oversee completion of the revenue recognition processes in managing month-end close, along with maintaining operational system processes. This person will also provide month-end reporting as well as working on implementing best practices across the team. Additionally, they will assist with special projects assigned by the Manager of Revenue Recognition. <h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>How will you contribute?</b></h3><div>
<ul><li>Perform review of complex, non-standard contracts and understand revenue recognition as it relates to multi-deliverables.</li>
<li>Coordinate auditor participation and ensure timely sign off of material contracts on an ongoing basis</li>
<li>Ensure capture of contract review information in company systems including Salesforce.</li>
<li>Preparation of technical revenue accounting memoranda related to product commercial models and material contracts.</li>
<li>Contribute to the close cycle by preparing and processing journal entries, performing checks and reconciliations.</li>
<li>Participate in the preparation of the monthly CFO revenue analysis.</li>
<li>Work with company stakeholders to resolve complex revenue accounting issues and determine proper allocation and timing of recognition.</li>
<li>Support the Financial Planning and Analysis team in revenue forecasting.</li>
<li>Participate in operational stakeholder Deal Rooms as a technical revenue recognition subject matter expert in moving opportunities through pre-sales and contract negotiation.</li>
<li>Participate in go to market initiatives as a technical revenue recognition subject matter expert in bringing new products and commercial models to market.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Revenue Operations team, and occasionally assist in testing their data accuracy.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Information Systems team to maintain data integrity across multiple platforms.</li>
<li>Cross train with other accounting &amp; finance personnel and special projects as needed.</li>
<li>Serve as liaison with external auditors as needed in the annual audit.</li>

<li>CPA or progress towards CPA required.</li>

<li>Public accounting experience required, mix of public and private preferred.</li>
<li>Prior experience with Netsuite a plus.</li>
