<div>The Dallas office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.</div><br>
<div></div>
<div>Working with us, you will:</div>
<ul><li>Serve as the engineering leader through all stages of a project of any size and play a larger role in the marketing of the studio and management of the discipline.</li>
<li>Lead and perform analysis, design and documentation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls.</li>
<li>Assist in establishing project goals, budgets and schedules, track project performance, and follow/enforce quality control procedures.</li>
<li>Meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors and others to address mechanical discipline issues and to develop effective working relationships.</li>
<li>Present engineering design solutions to client representatives and/or design review committees.</li>
<li>Serve as a mechanical systems specialist, conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope/complexity and devise solutions.</li>
<li>Contribute to SmithGroup sustainable design initiatives by using a variety of software to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluid dynamic calculations.</li>
<li>Mentor junior and intermediate level staff and participate in performance coaching.</li>
<li>Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested.</li></ul><br>

</div><div>An ideal candidate has:</div>
<ul><li>A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent.</li>
<li>Minimum 10 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer designing HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, sustainable design and automatic control systems, including experience performing energy modeling.</li>
<li>LEED AP preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.</li>
<li>The ability to lead and mentor others in area of expertise.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office Suite software.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealing with internal and external clients.</li></ul><br>
