What you'll do<ul><li>
Promotes safety initiatives and ensures safety policies are followed at all times.</li><li>
Offers leadership regarding safety, quality, and productivity; offering guidance and direction to subordinates.</li><li>
Maintains a strong shop floor presence to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to, and serves as the primary point of contact for questions and concerns.</li><li>
Conducts hazard assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.</li><li>
Reviews production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations accordingly.</li><li>
Plans department/plant operations, establishing priorities and sequences for optimal productivity.</li><li>
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.</li><li>
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to reduce costs and prevent operational delays.</li><li>
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.</li><li>
Develops and revises operational procedures and observes workers to ensure compliance with these standards.</li><li>
Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Superintendent for action.</li><li>
Organizes production data and reports.</li><li>
Directly supervises 0-20 non-supervisory employees.</li><li>
Performs supervisory duties in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.</li><li>
Responsibilities include enforcing safety and quality policies; interviewing, hiring, and training employees in cooperation with Human Resources; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</li></ul>
What you'll need<ul><li>
6-8 years of overall professional experience in management and/or specific discipline.</li><li>
4-6 years&rsquo; experience in a position of similar complexity, scope, size and impact.</li><li>
Broad knowledge and experience in industrial manufacturing or repair gained at successive levels of responsibility in multiple areas of plant/factory/heavy industrial environment(s).</li><li>
Knowledge of implementing and complying with corporate policies.</li><li>
Demonstrated prior success in achieving results using team driven philosophies.</li><li>
Demonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interest from remote site locations, and the ability to communicate and exercise communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul>
