We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the &ldquo;extra mile&rdquo; philosophy to fulfill our Short-Haul Box Truck Delivery Driver role.
The Short-Haul Box Truck Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering and picking up Snider customer tires and wheels while operating a Box Truck with a capacity under 26,000 pounds. The Delivery Driver will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules set by the warehouse supervisor. Safe driving, attention to detail, effective communication, and thoroughness are required in order to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and safely.
What You&rsquo;ll Do on a Typical Day:
<ul><li>Operate a 26-foot box truck and deliver commercial tires/wheels class 5 through 8, as well as other items to customers.
</li><li>Must maintain a safe and clean driving record.
</li><li>Responsible for executing client delivery schedules, proper loading and unloading, and obtaining signed paperwork in order to provide Snider branch, etc.
</li><li>Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment inventory levels on box truck, as well as, on person.</li>
<li>Assist supervisor with planning routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in the most efficient manner.</li>
<li>Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the changes are correct, and the customer is satisfied.</li>
<li>Effectively communicate any traffic violations, accidents, breakdowns, or delays in route to management and to customers.</li>
<li>Accurately identify and enter casing information into electronic device using current Michelin mobile app (MRT Mobile Solutions), as well as properly barcode client&rsquo;s tires and wheels and provide an email or printed copy of tire pick-up upon completion of work order</li>
<li>When available, assist with the scrap out analysis process for Snider customers.
</li><li>Interact with Snider Fleet Solutions customers and personnel on a daily basis.
</li><li>Support warehouse/service personnel with pulling, stacking, mounting, and dismounting various sized commercial tires, utilizing the commercial mount/dismount machine, T45A Tire Iron/Spoon Bar, and/or the &ldquo;Golden Tool.&rdquo;
</li><li>Conduct pre and post trip inspections to ensure that all mechanical systems are operating properly.</li>
<li>Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE, and demonstrate safety conscious mindset.</li>
<li>Demonstrate excellent attendance, show up to work on time and in the correct uniform.</li>
<li>Adheres to all policies, procedures, and values of Snider Fleet Solutions.</li>
</ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">Work environment will be inside of a Snider box truck and a warehouse environment. This will be at a commercial truck service center. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and the noise level is usually moderate.</h1>
Our Ideal Candidate:
Education or Experience:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED.
</li></ul><ul><li>Must be at least 21 years old.
</li></ul><ul><li>Must have a clean driving record.
</li></ul><ul><li>Previous experience in similar role or industry is a plus.
</li></ul>Certificates and Licenses:
<ul><li>Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards.</li>
</ul><ul><li>DOT Medical Certification.
</li></ul><ul><li>Forklift certification, obtained after employment.
</li></ul><ul><li>Commercial TIA certification preferred.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Abilities:
<ul><li>Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
</li><li>Ability to work nights and weekends; overnight travel may be required.
</li><li>Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
</li><li>Ability to use road maps, smart phones, and GPS devices.
</li><li>Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints.</li>
<li>Must be able to work in a results-oriented fast-paced environment.
</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>Reliable and dependable with self-initiative.</li>
<li>Safety conscious at all times.
</li><li>Must have strong organizational and time management skills, as well as close attention to detail.</li>
