</div></div></div><p></p><div><p>The <b>Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center </b>is seeking exceptional candidates to apply for the position of <b>Chief, Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology.</b> The ideal candidate will be a fellowship-trained and accomplished cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at the Assoicate Professor or Professor rank with national prominence, and a well-respected, dynamic and innovative leader. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of academic productivity, as demonstrated through high-impact publications, thematic-based research, and/or grant funding.</p>
<p><b>
The Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology will:</b></p>
<div>
<ul><li>Lead clinical operations to ensure excellent patient care with a focus on outcomes</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop the strategic growth plans for the division and participate in health system Heart and Vascular Service Line initiatives</li></ul>
<ul><li>Foster effective collaboration and coordination among divisional faculty and other services and health system stakeholders providing cardiothoracic services</li></ul>
<ul><li>Facilitate medical education for medical students, residents and fellows in cardiothoracic anesthesiology; provide oversight for Duke&rsquo;s ACGME accredited Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship</li></ul>
<ul><li>Enhance faculty development opportunities</li></ul>
<ul><li>Lead innovative scholarship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology</li></ul>
<ul><li>Promote leading-edge research and cultivate an environment of academic curiosity and collaboration</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provide programmatic excellence in health outcomes through evidence and value-based models to optimize inpatient care</li></ul>
<ul><li>Cultivate a networked divisional culture with agile teams focused on engagement, transparent resource allocation, and professional growth</li></ul>

<p>The Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Division within Duke Anesthesiology is one of the leading cardiovascular and critical care programs in the nation. Our world-renowned faculty provide comprehensive, cutting-edge care for cardiothoracic surgical patients in cardiothoracic operating rooms and ICUs in the Duke Medicine Pavilion, a modern surgical tower with 16 state of the art operating rooms, hybrid rooms, an imaging suite with MRI and CT technology, and five ICUs serving adult medical and surgical patients.
