Socomec North America (NAM) is Socomec&rsquo;s organization overseeing all operations in North America.
The Accountant will support the finance team within the North American organization from Suwanee, GA facility. This is a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of accounting operations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
<ul><li>Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
</li><li>Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
</li><li>Ability to gain an in depth knowledge and understanding of your accounts for month end reviews with Senior Management.
</li><li>Lead month-and year-end close of accounts
</li><li>Prepare ad hoc data analysis, as directed
</li><li>Manage the month-end and year-end closing consolidation into corporate tools. Ensure accurate mapping and translation of accounts so that financials are clear and well understood by all stakeholders.
</li><li>Monitor and analyze accounting data; particularly the balance sheet, in-transit/interim accounts and Intercompany. Ensuring accuracy and rectifying any issues with management approval.
</li><li>Maintain capex and fixed assets register for the assigned scope. Ensuring all coding is accurate at time of entry in the ERP.
</li><li>Ensure monthly COGS accuracy for intercompany and third party
</li><li>Analyze and allocate manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead with regular review of cost variances
</li><li>Work with operations/production teams to ensure accurate BOM and BOL for both manufactured and finished goods
</li><li>Inventory Management and Stock Variation
</li><li>Calculate obsolescence reserve based on Group best practices
</li><li>Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions.
</li><li>Accurately calculate the stock variation for the month end integration
</li><li>Conduct regular inventory reconciliations and audits with internal teams
</li><li>Evaluate and enhance processes for greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
</li><li>Collaborate with IT and finance leadership to implement automation tools and ERP systems upgrades.
</li><li>Stay current on industry best practices and recommend process changes to improve departmental performance and reduce manual workloads.
</li><li>Work collaboratively with company leaders and consultants by leading/supporting new technology implementation efforts for finance.
</li><li>Support management with continuous accurate accounting, process improvement, streamlining of tasks and going paperless where possible.
</li><li>Support external auditors, accountants, tax accountants and regulatory agencies during financial audit and reviews
</li><li>Ensure all financial operations adhere to corporate policies, accounting regulations, GAAP/IFRS standards, and audit requirements.
</li><li>Maintain and update internal controls for processes and lead periodic audits to ensure compliance and integrity of records.
</li><li>Prepare and submit required reports for internal and external audits, regulatory filings, and management reviews.
</li><li>Reporting &amp; Analysis
</li><li>Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, highlighting key trends, KPIs, and areas for improvement.
</li><li>Provide other relevant metrics to senior management.
</li><li>Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the timely completion and accuracy of all related tasks.
</li><li>Collaborate and respond to inquiries from internal and external Audit and Tax accountants.
</li><li>Address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders with timely answers and solutions
</li></ul>Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
<ul><li>Minimum 3-5 years&rsquo; experience in accounting/finance as an Accountant or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA/CMA certification is a plus but not required.
</li><li>In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and standards (GAAP). Experience of European GAAP/IFRS a plus, but not essential
</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
</li><li>Experience with, Syspro, LN Infor, is a plus.
</li><li>Experience in working with multiple legal entities and complex hierarchy of international company
</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Including but not limited to, proactively investigating to understand a task yourself.
</li><li>Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
</li><li>Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
</li><li>Agility in a fast changing environment and adapting as the company grows.
</li><li>Strong ethics and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
</li><li>Comfortability in asking challenging questions and for support where needed.
</li><li>Hybrid role; Must be available for domestic and international travel.
</li><li>Candidate should have, or have the ability to obtain prior to start date, a valid passport.
</li></ul>Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 USD
