For the past 20 years, we have partnered with governments, donors, and communities to bring systemic change and equity for individuals with disabilities.</p><p><b>Role Overview </b>We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educator to support students with Speech and Hearing Impairment (SHI). The ideal candidate will be proficient in Indian Sign Language (ISL) and will play a critical role in teaching, guiding, and preparing students for job placements. The educator will also work closely with schools, NGO partners, and local employers to ensure holistic student development and successful career readiness.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Travel to different schools and NGO partner locations to deliver training and support.</li><li>Teach and communicate with students using sign language, adapting methods to individual learning needs.</li><li>Prepare students for job placements by developing employability and life skills.</li><li>Counsel students, build rapport, and foster trust, motivation, and growth.</li><li>Conduct local job mapping to identify potential employment opportunities suitable for SHI students.</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and activities.</li><li>Create and present detailed reports on student development and program outcomes to the reporting manager.</li><li>Conduct sensitization sessions at employer sites to raise awareness about working with persons with speech and hearing impairments, ensuring inclusive and supportive work environments.</li><li>Provide on-the-job training to SHI candidates at the workplace, helping them adapt to their roles, understand job expectations, and bridge communication gaps.</li></ul><p><b>Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)</b></p><p><b>1. About the Role</b></div><div>
The Master Trainer &amp; Curriculum Developer (Special Education) at Sol&rsquo;s ARC will develop inclusive curriculum modules, deliver training for teachers and special educators, and support implementation across Tamil Nadu. The role combines inclusive curriculum development expertise with strong facilitation and mentoring skills. You&rsquo;ll work closely with SCERT, state officials, and teachers to ensure that learning materials are accurate, accessible, and aligned with state guidelines.</div><div>
 This role is both academic and field-based: one day you may be revising lesson plans or assessments, the next day you&rsquo;ll be in a district classroom guiding teachers, or presenting feedback to the State Inclusive Education Coordinator.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Key Responsibilities</b></div><div><b>
1. Curriculum Development</b></div><div>
Design and adapt pedagogy based on UDL(Universal Design for Learn) Framework for inclusive education.</div><div>
Develop activities, lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments in alignment with grade-level content.</div><div>
Adapt/modify curriculum content for primary and middle school based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).</div><div>
Ensure teaching-learning materials are engaging, accessible, and inclusive for children with diverse learning needs.</div><div>
Monitor curriculum delivery through Field Team and provide feedback for continuous improvement based on the challenges they discuss. Also adapt the feedback from the field teams on the changes suggested for the curriculum.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
2. Capacity Building (Internal and External Stakeholders)</b></div><div>
Support preparation of training and capacity-building modules; secure necessary government approvals.</div><div>
Develop training schedules and materials for master trainers, resource teachers, special educators, officials, and NGO partners.</div><div>
Conduct workshops, orientations, and refresher training for teachers and educators.</div><div>
Facilitate capacity-building for internal Sol&rsquo;s ARC teams to strengthen delivery models.</div><div>
Conduct classroom observations, audit checks and provide constructive feedback, and suggest actionable improvements.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
3. Project Planning &amp; Expansion</b></div><div>
Support project planning for state-level expansion based on learnings from pilot interventions.</div><div>
Collect, analyse, and synthesise data from pilot projects to inform scale-up.</div><div>
Draft high-quality reports, proposals, and presentations for government and donor partners.</div><div>
Ensure monitoring and documentation of implementation progress to support decision-making.</div><div>
Contribute to knowledge products and policy briefs that highlight Sol&rsquo;s ARC&rsquo;s impact and model.</div><div>
