While reporting to Production Leads as the Summer Intern for our tube and core division you will be responsible for working in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success.
What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing:<ul><li>
Receives work assignments and reports back to supervisor when finished</li><li>
Assists in baling scrap from machines and customer returns.</li><li>
Assists in finishing departments, precutting and capping cores.</li><li>
Assists in cleanup in the plant.</li><li>
Trains on lower-level jobs in the plant and substitutes during breaks, etc.</li><li>
Supplements normal winding crews in various packaging jobs when additional crew members are required.</li><li>
Performs other duties such as painting, housekeeping, yard work, etc.</li><li>
Walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Repetitive, intermittent, varied, fatigue, very active work, good strength, and good eyesight.</li></ul>

Position: Production Worker
Location: Munroe Falls, OH
Pay: $23.38/hr
Shift: 1st
The third shift hours are as follows:
Sunday 10:00PM-Monday 6:00AM
Monday 10:00PM-Tuesday 6:00AM
Tuesday 10:00PM-Wednesday 6:00AM
Wednesday 10:00PM-Thursday 6:00AM
Thursday 10:00PM - Friday 6:00AM 
**MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME IF NEEDED**
While reporting to the shift supervisor you will work in production for our tube and core division and be responsible for working in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.
What you&rsquo;ll be doing:<ul><li>
Collaborating closely with other departments and teams</li><li>
Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations</li><li>
Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product</li><li>
Learn to set up new jobs, train on other lines and in other departments</li><li>
Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area</li><li>
Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager</li><li>
Performing all duties in support of Sonoco&rsquo;s quality and safety policies</li><li>
Helping out other departments as needed</li><li>
Downtime is cleaning and straightening time</li></ul>

You have at least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.</li><li>
You have to have a &ldquo;get it done&rdquo; attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.</li><li>
You can easily lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.</li><li>
You have previously held a Forklift Certification and safely operate a forklift.</li><li>
Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.</li><li>
You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.</li><li>
Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.</li><li>
Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.</li><li>
You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.</li><li>
You will need to able to perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods of time.</li><li>
You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.</li></ul>
