Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, the Materials Manager takes direction from all leadership functions, operations, admin, etc. The Materials Manager schedules manufacturing equipment and raw materials to efficiently meet customer demand. The position is responsible for scheduling jobs to minimize downtime, effectively utilizing equipment and to ensuring on-time delivery. This position has indirect contact with customers to ensure Sonoco Oakdale is providing excellent service and support.</div><p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b>
What you'll be doing:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Responsible for weekly scheduling of production.</p></li><li><p>
Responsible for coordinating delivery of all raw materials needed for production.</p></li><li><p>
Responsible for accurate and timely input of all inventory related transactions including daily production and usage verification.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain tracking and reporting of schedule attainment.</p></li><li><p>
Responsible for plant associated bill of material accuracy. Along with maintaining and updating the item-site planning maintenance in QAD.</p></li><li><p>
Assist the warehouse supervisor with inventory status of finished goods and packaging materials. Including assistance with annual physical inventory.</p></li><li><p>
Ensures that all company property is properly maintained.</p></li><li><p>
Maintains good housekeeping in the warehouses and related areas.</p></li><li><p>
Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.</p></li><li><p>
Accountable for the identification, disposition, and necessary follow-up of slow moving, aged, and/or surplus inventories.</p></li><li><p>
May provide training to others on an as needed basis.</p></li><li><p>
Facilitates meetings with internal personnel, other plants, and customer service to coordinate activities between manufacturing plants.</p></li><li><p>
Provides MFG/PRO assistance to other plant personnel.</p></li><li><p>
Schedules raw materials for use in production and coordinates with group offices the shipment and in-plant inventories of metal.</p></li><li><p>
Assists the group sales function in budget and forecast comparisons.</p></li><li><p>
Assists the group sales function in customer inquiries and activities. Maintains and seeks resolution of customer complaints.</p></li><li><p>
Coordinates customer releases and orders with outside warehousing and other plants within the group.</p></li><li><p>
Assists in procuring transportation for customer and warehouse movement of finished products.</p></li><li><p>
May assist and advise the plant purchasing function in implementation of central stores reporting system and in seeking competitive pricing of goods and services.</p></li><li><p>
Reviews and orders ODM&rsquo;s needed for production.</p></li><li><p>
Assists Customer Service Reps (CSR) with customer forecasts.</p></li><li><p>
Performs CSR duties for Salmon customers.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>

Compensation:</b></p><p>

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the control and automation systems at Sonoco&rsquo;s Paper Mill. The position will work closely with the maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to continuously improve the safety, reliability and productivity of mill systems and equipment. It has the responsibility to provide day to day technical support, develop strategic plans for system modernization, and lead or participate in project teams involving control system upgrades and installations.</p><p></p><p><b>

Utilizing loop sheets, and electrical elementary diagrams for troubleshoot</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Using AutoCad top create loop sheets, and electrical elementaries for small control projects</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Tuning and evaluating control loop performance and auditing control system performance &ndash; X,Y plots of control loops to find failing control devices</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Working with engineers, operations management, maintenance personnel, and contractors to develop and meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements on assigned projects.</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Creating documentation packages for bidding, installation, start-up, and maintenance of control system projects. (scope of work, conduit layouts, cable schedules, connection drawings, bill of materials, preventative maintenance procedures, and required spares).</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Providing commissioning and startup support for controls projects.</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Developing and maintaining a project funnel for automation and control system upgrades.</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Working with plant process engineers to optimize control system performance.</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Providing direction to the maintenance team on controls related work orders.</b></h3></li><li><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

The annual base salary range for this role is from $102,080 to $114,840, plus a monthly target bonus of 12.5% of the base salary..</p><p></p><div><p>
