 Role Summary
 
 
 
 
 
 Central Operations is responsible for delivering the infrastructure to provide customer facing systems and cloud services to Sophos customers. The job role requires skill with Linux, cloud computing, automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments and incident management response.&nbsp;&nbsp;
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 What you will do
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Carry personal responsibility for high quality changes to a live IT/SaaS infrastructure
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage key operational systems on which millions of customers depend
 </li>
 <li>
 Create estimates and work plans then deliver according to those plans in an agile manner
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in a weekday/weekend on-call rotation
 </li>
 <li>
 Occasionally carry out changes outside of normal working hours
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor existing infrastructure, identify areas of weakness and propose improvements
 </li>
 <li>
 Take corrective action, as a first point of contact, to resolve incidents escalated from Technical Support, IT and development communities and escalate where appropriate
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide incident response and coordination, ensuring issue resolution and helping co-ordinate multiple resources
 </li>
 <li>
 Publish software updates as required meeting product release schedules, monitoring load on infrastructure and support, taking corrective action where possible and flagging issues with management
 </li>
 <li>
 Providing out-of-hours emergency support
 
 </li>

 What you will bring
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Command line configuration and troubleshooting in a cloud-based Linux environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshooting/Support/problem management experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with software development and/or DevOps practices&nbsp;
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands on technical knowledge with Amazon Web services (AWS)
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, SSM, S3 and Secrets Manager
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins / GitHub Actions or equivalent
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools with Terraform or equivalent
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with Database(s) e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS, Mongo NoSQL
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitoring and Alerting Tools such as PagerDuty, Datadog, CloudWatch, Logz.io or equivalent
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with Bash and python scripting
 </li>
 <li>
 IP networking - LAN &amp; WAN
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of malware/spam/network threats (preferred)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to interface with Senior Leaders
 </li>
 <li>
 Comfortable working in a detailed driven environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with GenAI tools such as GitHub CoPilot, Cursor
 </li>
 <li>
 Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC2, FedRamp, etc.)
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with AI tools and technologies
 
 </li>
