<div>What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care. 

The successful candidate will be able to: 
<ul><li>
Perform all relevant medical tasks including collecting vital signs, phlebotomy, performing EKGs and other minor diagnostics/treatments, administering injections and routine immunizations, assisting Provider with minor procedures, quality control testing, and maintaining CLIA waiver log, etc.</li><li>
Prepare patient charts including DIs, referrals, preventative screeners, labs, and DMEs.</li><li>
Gather personal and clinical information from patient, readies paperwork and communicates information to care team as appropriate</li><li>
Participate in developing and updating of HPI, Social History, vitals, assessment and plans for patients</li><li>
Communicate with patients and their family to put them at ease</li><li>
Maintain medical supply inventory for clinic; keeps patient rooms stocked with supplies as appropriate</li><li>
Process various types of medication refills</li><li>
Schedules patient appointments, per scheduling guidelines</li><li>
Process patient referrals, prior authorizations and DME; schedule and coordinate appointments with specialists and outside organizations as needed</li><li>
Manage incoming and outgoing information/records received from specialists, hospitals, and emergency rooms; appropriately indexes documents</li><li>
Accurately update patient information in the EMR (i.e. demographics, contact preferences, insurance information etc.).</li><li>
Identify the health maintenance needs before welcoming the patient to the exam room</li><li>
Preview the schedule in advance, re-evaluates it throughout the day; tracks the flow of the clinic schedule to keep team on track and on time</li><li>
Collaborate with provider to ensure patients receive appropriate counseling and health education at time of visit or via telephonic follow-up (i.e. explanation of lab results, glucometer and inhaler teaching, chronic disease education, etc.)</li><li>
Manage influx of clinical triage calls; conducts appropriate triage over the phone and assesses whether patient can be treated telephonically or needs to be seen by provider</li><li>
Work in partnership with team members; collaborates with care team to ensure patient&rsquo;s healthcare needs are being met.</li><li>
Perform any and all duties as assigned</li></ul> 

What We&rsquo;re Looking For
<ul><li>
High School Diploma or GED required</li><li>
Medical Assistant Certification, strongly preferred</li><li>
At least 1-2 years recent experience in urgent or primary care setting</li><li>
Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license &amp; reliable transportation</li><li>
Must have experience in phlebotomy/venipuncture</li><li>
Ability to communicate effective with Providers and others to resolve issues</li><li>
Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness to patients, families, and co-workers</li></ul>
