General Description
Teachers, as members of a classroom teaching team, under the supervision of a Lead Teacher, plan for an assigned small group and the individual children comprising that small group. The Teacher is responsible for all classroom functioning in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
Programmatic Responsibilities
<ul><li>Assist in maintaining a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment.</li><li>
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and teaching strategies.</li><li>
Develop weekly plans for assigned small group.</li><li>
Complete all required parent reports for children in assigned small group.</li><li>
Help to organize and maintain classroom order, equipment, and materials</li><li>
Participate in child assessment and utilize information to develop individual plans for children in assigned small group.</li><li>

Complete annual professional development plan.</li><li>

Family Communication Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Maintain open and supportive communication with families.</li><li>
Hold the required number of family conferences for children in assigned small group.</li><li>
Participate in family events at the Center.</li><li>
Support all family involvement activities.</li></ul>
Qualifications
<ul><li>AA in Early Childhood Education or AA/BA out of field with 18 ECE credits.</li><li>
One year experience teaching young children.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete all program responsibilities.</li><li>
Demonstrated classroom management skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and demonstrated commitment to DAP.</li><li>
Knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks.</li><li>
Demonstrated knowledge of child assessment and ability to use data to develop/implement individual plans.</li><li>
Warm and nurturing personality.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).</li><li>
Willingness to work a flexible schedule.</li><li>
Commitment to agency's mission of supporting low-income families and at-risk children.</li></ul>

Salary range is $22.87-26.88 per hour.

Preschool Teacher - Randolph

<div>The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for the education of each of the children in their classroom, developing an environment and curriculum that supports optimal development. The Lead Teacher works with the Center Director to plan and implement all center programs and to supervise and support the classroom staff. The Lead Teacher may assume responsibility for the center in absence of the Center Director. 
PROGRAMMATIC RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Develops a classroom environment that supports the social/emotional development of all children.</li><li>
Organizes and maintains a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment in compliance with all licensing, accreditation and agency standards.</li><li>
Oversees ongoing child assessment, using tools provided by agency; supports other classroom staff in the use of the tools.</li><li>
Plans and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum based on child assessment data.</li><li>
Develop/implement individual plans for children based on child assessment data. Develops and implements successful teaching strategies.</li><li>
Develops an annual Classroom Action Plan utilizing program evaluation and child assessment data. Provides leadership in completing Action Plan goals.</li><li>
Identifies child developmental concerns, consults with Center Director and Center Social Worker develops/implements individual accommodation plans.</li><li>
Maintains all required documentation of classroom activities and children's progress in compliance with licensing, accreditation and agency standards.</li><li>
Develops/completes annual professional development plan.</li><li>
All other duties as assigned by the Center Director</li></ul>
SUPERVISORY REPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Serves as the team leader and a role model for classroom staff.</li><li>
Plans and facilitates regular teaching team curriculum meetings.</li><li>
Provides on-going supervision of classroom staff.</li><li>
Completes with Center Director performance evaluations of teachers and teacher assistants including a professional development plan, supporting staff in reaching their goals.</li><li>
Assists Center Director orienting and supervising all volunteers and student interns.</li></ul>
FAMILY COMMUNICATION/ENROLLMENT REPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Communicates with families through daily contact/notes, bi-weekly reports and newsletters, maintaining documentation of all communication.</li><li>
Meets with parents al least every three months, regarding their child's development.</li><li>
Provides parents with initial three week adjustment report and developmental reports every three months.</li><li>
Encourages parent involvement in planning for their child and classroom activities</li><li>
Develops/implements activities that link home with classroom activities.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>BA in Early Childhood Education or a BA out of field with 36 ECE credits - Required</li><li>
DEEC Lead Teacher Preschool Certified - Required</li><li>
EEC/Infant Toddler Certified - Preferred</li><li>
Two years of experience teaching young children - Preferred</li><li>
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to developmentally appropriate practice.</li><li>
Commitment to agency's mission of supporting diverse children and families.</li><li>
Demonstrated classroom management skills.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to supervise classroom team members.</li><li>
