OVERVIEW: The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Campus President to perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties necessary to run the Campus efficiently. 
BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION: The Administrative Assistant performs complex secretarial and administrative duties in support of the Campus President, and assists in the coordination of general office functions. The Administrative Assistant accomplishes this through:<ul><li>
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating meetings</li><li>
Oversees the administration of the Campus President's office</li><li>
Monitors progress of internal and Campus-wide projects</li><li>
Screens calls and visitors to the Campus President's office</li><li>
Performs confidential secretarial duties relating to student or personnel documentation</li></ul> 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating meetings<ul><li>
Coordinates and attends meetings as appropriate.</li><li>
Arranges meetings, conferences, special events, and luncheons for the Campus President.</li><li>
Prepares necessary material for meetings.</li><li>
Prepares and distributes meeting minutes.</li><li>
Assist with making travel arrangements, when necessary.</li><li>
Manages the Campus President calendar of events.</li><li>
Assists with scheduling and planning.</li></ul> 
Oversees the administration of the Campus President's office<ul><li>
Responsible for creating memorandums and other forms of communication for staff distribution.</li><li>
Assists with new hire processing and electronic on-boarding.</li><li>
Monitor and tracking employees time in the time-keeping system.</li><li>
Acts as a liaison between Campus and Human Resource Department.</li><li>
Assists with scheduling and planning.</li></ul> 
Monitors progress of internal and Campus-wide projects<ul><li>
Ensures deadlines are met and enforced.</li><li>
Reviews and tracks completed tasks.</li><li>
Assists with the implementation of projects.</li></ul> 
Screens calls and visitors to the Campus President's office<ul><li>
Answers all calls forwarded.</li><li>
Greets visitors with a pleasant and professional demeanor.</li><li>
Conducts research and responds to request for information.</li><li>
Routinely responds to complaints and ensure they are addressed by Campus President.</li></ul>
Performs confidential administrative duties<ul><li>
Maintains confidential and sensitive information.</li><li>
Provides support as required to problem solve and discuss concerns.</li></ul> 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be required to stand or sit for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Professional office setting; controlled indoor climate; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
The Administrative Assistant role is primarily focused on providing administrative duties to the President. Thus, the Administrative Assistant provides a heavy degree of interaction with staff, faculty and students. The role requires someone that is able to adapt to changes in the work environment and is able to manage competing demands.

General knowledge on the appropriate format for memorandums, letters, and other types of correspondence.</li><li>

Skills:<ul><li>

Education, Experience, and Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent; or more than two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

First and foremost, their role as Faculty members is to engage students, foster learning, role model professionalism, and ultimately produce competently trained students prepared for professional careers. Faculty designated as Program
Education, Experience, and Training:
Program Directors oversee the development and monitor the delivery of academic programs and are responsible for ensuring a quality education for students in their programs. The Program Director for Medical Assisting must have at a minimum:<ul><li>
As degree</li><li>
4 years of &quot;in field&quot; experience</li><li>
Current, unrestricted State of North Carolina RMA/CMA License</li></ul>
BUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS:
Program Directors are responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain and deliver education services to students through:<ul><li>
Creating and maintaining core curriculum</li><li>
Communicating and monitoring delivery of core curriculum</li><li>
Delivering their own course lectures</li><li>
Facilitating student engagement</li><li>
Working one-on-one with students</li><li>
Assessing students and providing developmental feedback</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Program Director Responsibilities: Faculty designated as Program Directors are responsible for the oversight and management of their specific program curricula across the college. To meet this responsibility Program Directors must:<ul><li>
Review program curriculum to ensure materials are up-to-date</li><li>
Review courses within their respective programs</li><li>
Review text books, equipment, and materials</li><li>
Create and modify course control document as necessary</li><li>
Work with program coordinators to ensure consistency of delivery across campuses</li><li>
Meet with local advisory boards to ensure programs meet community/employer needs</li><li>
Develop and monitor externship programs</li><li>
Prepare for and facilitate annual faculty convocation to ensure programs are up-to-date</li></ul>
Faculty Responsibilities: As Faculty Members, Program Directors are also responsible for course delivery at their campus. This includes the following core areas:
Prepare Course Plans and Materials:<ul><li>
Review Course Control Document (CCD)</li><li>
Prepare syllabus</li><li>
Create lesson plans</li><li>
Create exams, quizzes, and projects/assignments</li><li>
Coordinate with librarian and bookstore for availability of materials</li></ul>
Deliver Courses:<ul><li>
Administer pre-test/post-test</li><li>
Deliver lectures/facilitate labs</li><li>
Grade projects and exams</li><li>
Provide progress reports/mid-term feedback</li><li>
Maintain grade book</li><li>
Enforce policies (attendance, dress code, no food and drink...)</li></ul>
Monitor Progress/Attendance:<ul><li>
Monitor student progress and follow-up as needed</li><li>
Take daily attendance and enforce attendance policy</li><li>
Follow-up with students who miss a class (phone calls)</li><li>
Report attendance issues to the Dean</li></ul>
Advise Students:<ul><li>
Answer student questions</li><li>
Be available for one-on-one assistance/tutoring</li></ul>
Record Grades and Submit Reports:<ul><li>
Maintain grade books</li><li>
Adhere to departmental grading policies</li><li>
Provide Dean with weekly reports</li><li>
Provide students with mid-term evaluations</li><li>
Submit final grades</li></ul>
Other Duties &ndash; Adjunct and Full-time Faculty:<ul><li>
Monitor equipment and supply needs</li><li>
Maintain classroom</li><li>
Maintain any relevant licensures and certifications</li></ul>
Other Duties &ndash; Full-time Faculty:<ul><li>
Attend campus faculty meetings</li><li>
Participate in committees and knowledge-sharing forums</li><li>
Prepare for and participate in convocation</li></ul>
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment: communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students (virtual classrooms for on-line), demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from appropriate classes and offices.
