We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable individual to serve in a hybrid role combining ophthalmic technician duties with medical scribing responsibilities. This position plays a vital role in both patient care and physician efficiency by supporting clinical workflows, documenting encounters in real time, and performing essential ophthalmic testing.Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Scribe Duties<ul><li>Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including history, examination findings, assessments, and treatment plans as dictated by the physician.</li><li>Track diagnostic test results, imaging, and lab work, ensuring all data is uploaded and linked to patient charts.</li><li>Prepare visit summaries, referral letters, and follow-up instructions as directed by the physician.</li><li>Anticipate physician needs during examinations and procedures to improve workflow.</li><li>Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times</li></ul>Ophthalmic Technician Duties<ul><li>Conduct patient intake: record medical/ocular history, chief complaint, allergies, and current medications.</li><li>Perform diagnostic testing such as:</li><li>Visual acuity, color vision, refraction (manual or auto)</li><li>Tonometry (applanation, iCare, or other methods)</li><li>Visual fields, OCT, fundus photography, corneal topography, and A-scan/biometry</li><li>Instill ophthalmic drops and prepare patients for dilation and procedures.</li><li>Assist ophthalmologists with minor in-office procedures and surgeries as needed.</li><li>Ensure exam rooms and equipment are cleaned, calibrated, and ready for use.</li><li>Educate patients on medication use, treatment plans, surgical prep, and postoperative care instructions.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
