Summary-This position is needed to assist physician in clinic.The Scribe works to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. The Scribe assists the medical provider by accompanying them during the medical history-taking and exam, recording details of both into the medical record. Must be dependable.In addition to the scribing responsibilities, this individual may be needed to help assist with various medically-related tasks such as handling of RFA's.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (note: for items 1-3, 5 information is obtained directly from provider &ndash;no medical decision making is done by Scribe)<ul><li>Record details of chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past medical history, social history, family medical history, disease risk factors, medications and allergies.</li><li>Record details of physical exam, including pertinent positives and negatives, noted abnormalities and patient general condition.</li><li>Submit orders as desired by medical provider and check constantly for results of those orders (as designated).</li><li>Other duties and limitations as delineated by specific provider.</li><li>Handles RFA's for the physician practice, if needed</li></ul>CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies<ul><li>Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations</li><li>Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details</li><li>Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information</li><li>Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications</li><li>Communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with multiple members of the health care team</li><li>Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow</li><li>Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families</li><li>Flexibility in scheduling</li><li>Coping with the sometimes high-pressure environment</li><li>Must be dependable and report to work as scheduled</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proficient in medical documentation and transcription with a strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.</li><li>Experience in a medical office setting, including familiarity with EHR systems and patient records management.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and patients.</li><li>Strong typing skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly in emergency room settings.</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: $24.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>medical office: 2 years (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Bakersfield, CA 93309 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Bakersfield, CA 93309: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
