<p><b>Description</b></p>
<p>The Modeling and Engineering Support Engineer/Specialist/Analyst position will serve within Georgia Power&rsquo;s Power Delivery Operations Support Organization on the Modeling &amp; Engineering Support (MES) team.</p>
<p>The MES team is responsible for updating and maintaining the transmission control systems displays within the Energy Management System (EMS) platform utilized by Georgia Powers&rsquo; transmission control center operators to ensure the safe monitoring and operation of the electric grid. EMS platforms utilized by the team include Siemens Spectrum, OSI Monarch, and other internal tools.</p>
<p>By providing comprehensive support to both internal and external business partners, the MES team ensures that system models are accurately updated within the EMS platform to reflect the proper operational conditions of the power grid.</p>
<p>The position will require occasional availability during off hours to assist with unforeseen situations that need immediate attention and storm restoration efforts. Additionally, the role will involve periodic travel for training and supporting projects as required.</p>
<p><b>Job Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul><li><div>Perform modeling and engineering tasks associated with ensuring the EMS system databases and displays accurately reflect real-time system conditions. Examples include:
</div></li><li><div>Creation and maintenance of SCADA systems displays for substations, transmission lines, etc.
</div></li><li><div>Retirement of equipment and rating changes.
</div></li><li><div>Alarms and controls associated with relay modernizations, communication devices, etc.
</div></li><li><div>Display enhancements, ad hoc requests, and troubleshooting of abnormalities.
</div></li><li><div>Database management.
</div></li><li><div>Be a primary point of contact for coordinating work within assigned area of responsibility including the Integrated Transmission System (ITS)participants.
</div></li><li><div>Build and establish productive relationships with customers and communicate effectively and promptly to understand and support their needs.

<p><b>Education:</b></p>
<ul><li><div>Bachelor&rsquo;s or associate degree in a technical field preferred.
</div></li><li><div>A degree in an engineering field is a plus.
</div></li></ul><p><b>Experience:</b></p>
<ul><li><div>Working knowledge of transmission systems, transmission operations and/or protection and controls is preferred.

<p><b>Position Overview</b></p>
<p><b>The Building Services Technician &ndash; HVAC/Mechanical Specialist provides maintenance and technical support across multiple GPC facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable operation of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.</b></p>
<p><b>The technician will travel between sites to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of equipment, including automatic gates, ice machines, and building automation systems.</b></p>
<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p>Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, and other mechanical equipment across multiple GPC locations.</p>
<p>Diagnose and resolve HVAC and mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain occupant comfort.</p>
<p>Maintain and repair automatic gates, door operators, and access systems for secure and safe facility operation.</p>
<p>Service and maintain ice machines, including cleaning, sanitizing, and troubleshooting refrigeration and mechanical problems.</p>
<p>Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems, including valves, fixtures, piping, and water heaters.</p>
<p>Perform minor electrical work, such as replacing ballasts, switches, motors, and troubleshooting circuits within scope of certification and safety guidelines.</p>
<p>Monitor, adjust, and optimize building automation systems (BAS/BMS) for performance and energy efficiency.</p>
<p>Support general building maintenance tasks, including lighting, pumps, motors, and control systems.</p>
<p>Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service schedules for each facility.</p>
<p>Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and installations.</p>
<p>Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations at all locations.</p>
<p>Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment upgrades across the region.</p>
<p>Qualifications</p>
<p><b>Minimum 5+ years of experience in HVAC and mechanical maintenance, with working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.</b></p>
<p>Experience supporting multiple facilities or regional operations preferred.</p>
<p>Technical diploma or certification in HVAC, mechanical systems, or building maintenance required.</p>
<p>EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification and/or relevant trade licenses highly desirable.</p>
<p>Experience servicing automatic gates, refrigeration/ice machines, and general building equipment.</p>
<p>Strong understanding of building automation systems and mechanical controls.</p>
<p>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.</p>
<p>Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.</p>
<p>Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.</p>

<p><b>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation required (travel between sites).</b></p>
<p>Physical Requirements</p>
<p>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.</p>
<p>Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other building environments.</p>
<p>Willingness to travel regularly between GPC facilities within assigned region.</p>
