To apply visit careers.southernute.com/pfundPOSITION SUMMARY: Takes minutes and transcribes both regular and special council sessions, which also includes Council work session notes and provides support to the Executive Office Manager of the Tribal Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Tribal Council.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Records Tribal Council meetings and other special meetings as required and transcribes minutes taken and prepares in a draft form for submittal to the Tribal Council for approval.2. Maintains complete record of minutes and resolutions and distributes resolutions to appropriate departments.3. Ensures that documentation is complete and accurate.4. Creates, modifies, manages, and maintains the work session notes for Tribal Council and the Executive Office5. Maintains accurate files electronically and in hard copy.6. Compiles weekly Tribal council agendas and documents.7. Distributes and collects mail and correspondence.8. Performs receptionist duties for the department.9. Assist the Office Manager of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Tribal Council with correspondence, and other duties as needed.10. Required to travel and attend conventions, meetings and provide remote clerical and administrative support as requested by the Executive Staff and the Tribal Council.11. Attends staff meetings and trainings as requested.12. Participates in a positive, supportive, and team-oriented environment.13. Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.Must have 2 years of experience in a secretarial or clerical capacity.Must have computer experience in the Microsoft Office environment including Word and Excel.Must have or be able to obtain an extensive knowledge of Tribal Policies and procedures, particularly those related to the duties and functions of the Tribal Council and Tribal Chairman&rsquo;s office.Must be able to type 45 wpm with 85% accuracy.Must be able to pass a skills test to include summarization and proof reading.Must sign a confidentiality agreement at time of hire.Must pass a thorough criminal history background check and pre-employment drug test.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:A valid Driver&rsquo;s License for state of residency and insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.TERO preference.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $21.48 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High school or equivalent (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>clerical or secretarial: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
