Experience:<ul><li>
Assist the orthodontist during patient treatments, including but not limited to placing and removing braces, taking impressions, adjusting wires, and applying and removing elastics and other orthodontic appliances.</li><li>
Ensure the patient is comfortable during procedures and respond to patient needs as necessary.</li><li>
Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.</li><li>
Ensure that patients are properly positioned and that instruments and materials are within reach to assist the orthodontist efficiently.</li><li>
Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials used for treatments, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.</li><li>
Maintain clinical areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.</li><li>
Take diagnostic X-rays, panoramic images, or digital scans as required for treatment planning.</li><li>
Assist in maintaining accurate patient records by updating and recording treatment progress, notes, and X-ray results in the practice management system (EHR/PMS).</li><li>
Assist with the fitting, adjustment, and removal of orthodontic appliances such as retainers, expanders, and braces.</li><li>
Provide post-treatment instructions to patients for retainer care and the importance of regular follow-up visits.</li></ul> 
Requirements:<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
Requirements</h3><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited orthodontic assisting program preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant or dental assistant, with a focus on orthodontic procedures preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and terminology.</li><li>
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients, families, and the orthodontic team.</li><li>
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.</li></ul>
