<p>
As an <b>Adaptive Physical Educator</b> you will accelerate the outcomes of students in <b>Grades K-12</b> by delivering designated physical education services aligned to each learner&rsquo;s individualized education plan (IEP) &mdash; on time, on schedule, and to standard. This role elevates instruction through evidence-based curriculum and community-based learning consistent with IEP intent; builds individualized schedules that advance service goals; and documents progress with rigorous, data-driven reporting.</p>
<p><b>
‖ Responsibilities Include:</b></p>
<ul>
<li><p>Implementing designated services as detailed in each student&rsquo;s IEP/ITP, meeting required weekly minutes within the specified service windows.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Developing and implementing standards-aligned, evidence-based curriculum consistent with the letter and intent of the IEP/ITP, including on-site and community-based instruction as monitored by the supervisor.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Developing and implementing individualized schedules that directly address each student&rsquo;s IEP/ITP goals related to designated services.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Consulting with the supervisor regarding student progress and the implementation of the IEP/ITP/PBIP, and supporting transition planning for mainstreaming/inclusion or post-secondary/adult program pathways.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Conducting ongoing evaluations of student needs; compiling IEPs/ITPs and Progress Reports; and reporting data to the supervisor, parent/caregiver, and district representative.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Recording and maintaining accurate, timely data within student programs, classroom records, and assigned data systems.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Assisting teachers and classroom staff in implementing related-service curriculum by modeling best practices and preparing materials.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Participating in IEP meetings as requested; presenting proposed goals and current levels using data-based evidence; and fielding goal-related questions.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Providing direct services through collaborative consultation with instructional and clinical teams.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Preparing individualized materials and adaptive equipment to maximize student access and engagement.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Facilitating student transitions to the least restrictive environment through coordinated planning and skill generalization.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Completing all required basic competency training and courses, including Supervision Training and other compliance modules.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Completing all staff development necessary to maintain the credentials required for this position.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Observing and training staff to implement related-service goals consistently across the school day.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Assisting and mentoring classroom staff at the supervisor&rsquo;s request while meeting all ongoing credentialing and professional development requirements.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Attending required meetings, including supervision sessions, all-staff meetings, annual planning, and action-team forums.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Adhering to organizational communication guidelines by using objective, professional language (NORMS) with colleagues and all stakeholders.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Giving and receiving feedback professionally&mdash;prioritizing appropriate timing, setting, confidentiality, and data-based rationale.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Adhering to ChanceLight and Spectrum Center policies, procedures, and protocols without exception.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Performing additional duties as assigned to support high-quality, student-centered services.</p>
</li>
</ul><p><b>‖ </b><b>Qualifications Required:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.</li>
<li>Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an adaptive physical educator (APE) credential.</li>
<li>Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education instruction credential preferred.</li>
<li>Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state drivers license.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.</li>
<li>Prior experience working with adaptive physical education services, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.</li>
<li>Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities.</li>
<li>Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).</li>
<li>Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA), positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, functional behavior analysis (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's).</li>
<li>Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.</li>
<li>Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.</li>
<li>Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.</li></ul><br>

As an <b>Occupational Therapist</b>, you will provide direct therapy to students with special needs including but not limited to development, implementation and maintenance of designated instructional programs, conducting regular assessments, and developing or adjusting individualized education plan (IEP) goals as needed.</p>
<p><b>
‖ Responsibilities Include:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Implementing student-specific occupational therapy services as outlined in each Individualized Education Program (IEP), including adherence to frequency, duration, and service location requirements.</li>
<li>Completing comprehensive assessment reports within state- and district-mandated timelines to support data-driven educational planning.</li>
<li>Communicating evaluation results and individualized therapy recommendations to families, educational staff, students (as appropriate), and related agencies, with appropriate consent from the student&rsquo;s legal guardian.</li>
<li>Planning and developing targeted therapeutic goals that are educationally relevant and seamlessly integrated into each student&rsquo;s academic program.</li>
<li>Conducting ongoing reassessments and modifying therapy objectives based on evolving student needs and progress toward educational outcomes.</li>
<li>Monitoring the fidelity of therapy implementation and collaborating with and training educators, paraprofessionals, and other support staff involved in occupational therapy interventions.</li>
<li>Documenting student progress through timely and accurate reporting in alignment with district standards and program guidelines.</li>
<li>Participating in IEP meetings to share data-informed insights, progress updates, and goal recommendations to support individualized planning.</li>
<li>Creating a supportive, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment tailored to each student&rsquo;s sensory, physical, and cognitive needs.</li>
<li>Evaluating progress toward therapy goals and determining when students are ready to transition from or discontinue occupational therapy services.</li>
<li>Facilitating professional development sessions and in-service trainings to enhance the capacity of occupational therapy staff and interdisciplinary team members.</li>
<li>Participating in training school personnel on the effective use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment, while maintaining proper documentation of use and outcomes.</li>
<li>Attending and actively engaging in all required team meetings, trainings, and professional collaboration forums.</li>
<li>Performing additional duties as assigned, contributing positively to the overall success of the student services team.</li>
</ul>
