Tasks</b></h2>
<p>
Build and operate our platform on Google Cloud (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager).</p>
<ul>
<li>Own Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, plus CI/CD pipelines and clean promotion across dev, test and production.</li>
<li>Develop backend services in Python, design clean APIs, and integrate with internal and third-party systems.</li>
<li>Build production data pipelines on BigQuery: partitioning, cost and performance tuning, scheduled queries, batch and streaming workloads.</li>
<li>Shape a scalable, maintainable platform architecture with clean separation of concerns.</li>
<li>Work within security and IAM standards suited to regulated financial institutions: GCP IAM, RBAC and SSO, audit logging, Binary Authorization, VPC Service Controls.</li>
</ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Requirements</b></h2>
<ul><li>5+ years in backend or platform engineering, with production experience on Google Cloud.</li>
<li>Strong Python and clean API and service design.</li>
<li>Hands-on data engineering on BigQuery.</li>
<li>Solid DevOps practice: Terraform, CI/CD, containerized workloads.</li>
<li>Practical depth in cloud security and IAM: identity, access control, audit logging.</li>
<li>Fluent German (C1 or higher) and fluent English.</li>
<li><b>Big plus:</b> background with regulated financial institutions or a comparable regulated setting.</li>

Tasks</b></h2>
<ul><li>Work with our stack on Google Cloud (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager) using Docker.</li>
<li>Extend our existing Terraform and CI/CD setup and help keep delivery automated and reliable.</li>
<li>Build and maintain backend services in Python with clean data structures and readable code.</li>
<li>Build and maintain enrichment and ETL pipelines on BigQuery: SQL, scheduled queries, basic performance awareness.</li>

<ul><li>2 to 3 years of hands-on experience building and running services in production on Google Cloud.</li>
<li>Solid Python, with care for clean structure and reliable data handling.</li>

You lead our software delivery through technical excellence: you own the architecture and technical design, set the quality, security, and release frameworks everything ships through, and act as the technical counterpart to senior architects on the customer side. You work AI-native by default, building the agentic workflows that let a small, high-calibre team deliver reliably at scale.</p>

<li>Own architecture and technical design: decide what to build and how in a regulated environment.</li>
<li>Design for security and scale: secure-by-design, sound identity and access, and reliable performance under load.</li>
<li>Set and maintain the technical bar: quality assurance, release and change management, IT security.</li>
<li>Own verification: the testing strategy and CI gates that prove what ships is correct and on-spec.</li>
<li>Build practical AI leverage: agentic workflows with the evaluation and guardrail mechanisms that make AI output reliable.</li>
<li>Be the technical face to customers: engage senior client-side architects in workshops and due diligence.</li>
<li>Support the growth of the engineers around you through mentoring, code review, and technical guidance.</li>
<li>Coordinate the team: work allocation, delivery rhythm, and day-to-day execution.</li>

<p><b>What we build:</b></p>
<p>
(1) a privacy-first data-sharing platform that lets banks share financial-crime intelligence without exposing each other's raw data, built on multi-party-computation technology from our partner Roseman Labs;<br>
(2) an AI-driven fraud-management pipeline using LLMs for analysis, detection-rule discovery, case preparation, and automation.</p>

Requirements</b></h2>

What we&rsquo;re looking for</b></p>
<p>
We do not expect you to check every box. We are looking for someone with strong engineering judgment, people skills, and the ability to own technical direction from day one.</p>
<p><b>
Required</b></p>
<ul>
<li>6+ years building production software, with the depth to contribute hands-on and help guide technical decisions.</li>
<li>Hands-on AI development (a must): coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) on real work; builds agentic systems, not just prompts a chatbot.</li>
<li>Strong distributed-systems and API design skills, with a security-minded approach to OAuth/OIDC and data protection.</li>
<li>Rigorous about quality: comfortable shaping automated testing strategy and CI discipline, and verifying rather than assuming.</li>
<li>A systems and critical-thinking mindset: able to reason about risk in both software and the surrounding process or policy.</li>
<li>Experience in highly regulated, process-driven industries is a strong plus; banking/FinTech is especially relevant. Familiarity with GDPR, BaFin/MaRisk, PSD2, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 is helpful.</li>
<li>Strong customer-facing communication and the ability to work well with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li>
<li>Cloud experience with GCP preferred (or AWS/Azure), plus IaC, containers, and CI/CD.</li>
<li>Fluent English.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Desirable:</b> German; Python (FastAPI), React/TypeScript, GCP stack; data-intensive pipelines over large transaction datasets; privacy-enhancing tech / MPC; anti-financial-crime domain (AML/KYC/fraud).</p>
