The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for architecting and building a brand-new, scalable platform that enables business-critical ecommerce capabilities.</div><div>
This role requires deep full-stack expertise and prior experience in e-commerce SaaS environments. The engineer will design foundational architecture, define technical standards, and deliver a production-grade platform that supports long-term growth, extensibility, and operational excellence.</div><div>

HOW WILL YOU ACHIEVE SUCCESS</div><div></div><ul><li><br>

WHAT EXPERIENCES WILL HELP YOU IN THIS ROLE:</div><div></div><ul><li><br>
8-10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in platform services. with deep expertise in data platform engineering, backend systems, and front-end application development.</li><li>Proven experience building or significantly contributing to e-commerce SaaS platforms.</li><li>Experience working in high-growth, scaling environments.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
Technical Expertise</div><div></div><ul><li><br>
Strong backend development experience (Python).</li><li>Strong frontend development experience (React)</li><li>Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.</li><li>Deep understanding of distributed systems and system design.</li><li>Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.</li><li>Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).</li><li>Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.</li><li>Knowledge of secure software design principles.</li></ul><div>

<div>We are building a new, in-house Facilities Technician team to provide dedicated, on-site facilities and material handling equipment (MHE) support for our warehouse operations across the United States. This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted fulfillment operations by maintaining building systems, MHE, and conveyance assets, and by responding quickly to unplanned downtime events.</div><div>
The Facility Technician will serve as the primary on-site technical resource, working closely with operations leadership, network engineering, procurement, and third-party vendors.</div>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>How will you achieve success:</b></h3><ul><li><b>
Preventative Maintenance: </b>Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE), conveyors and conveyance systems, storage racking, and facility infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems) as permitted by municipal code.</li><li><b>
Corrective Maintenance: </b>Diagnose equipment failures and respond to downtime events with urgency to restore operations safely and efficiently. Execute hands-on repairs and coordinate external vendors when issues exceed onsite capabilities. Hands-on repairs can include Conveyance, PIT, Racking.
</li><li><b>Facilities &amp; Operations Support: </b>Serve as the on-site facilities point of contact for warehouse leadership. Partner with operations teams to minimize disruption during repairs and maintenance activities. Support facility readiness for peak, expansion, and new equipment deployments.</li><li><b>
Asset &amp; CMMS Management: </b>Maintain accurate asset registries for MHE, conveyance, racking, spare parts, and facility systems. Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders and preventative maintenance schedules, document repairs and downtime events, and support lifecycle planning and capital replacement decisions.</li><li><b>
Team &amp; Vendor Oversight: </b>Interface with third-party service providers for specialized maintenance, inspections, and repairs and manage a team of temporary or contract housekeepers/janitorial staff. Oversee day-to-day task execution, scheduling, and performance of on-site support labor.</li><li><b>
Compliance: </b>Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA requirements, and internal policies.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
What experiences will help you in this role:</b></h3><ul><li>
3+ years of experience as an industrial, facilities, or maintenance technician in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment</li><li>
Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing conveyor and sortation systems, material handling equipment, and industrial facility systems.</li><li>
Formal technical education, certifications, or training in areas such as conveyor system repair and maintenance, Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), and electrical or mechanical systems.</li><li>
Strong working knowledge of MEP principles (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)</li><li>
Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., Limble, MaintainX, UpKeep, Maximo, Fiix)</li><li>
Experience supervising contractors or temporary labor.</li><li>
Experience working in fast-paced, uptime-critical environments.</li></ul><div>
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $21,5/hour to $30/hour. Pay is based on a number of factors including geographic market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Spreetail is a total compensation company.
