How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Technical Training Manager you will provide technical training expertise in support of Regional and Territory Sales Managers, distributors, and contractors. Will train new sales employees to provide excellent service, sales, and technical support. Will also provide field technical support for new products and revisions to existing products. 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

<ul><li>Provide technical training expertise within region</li></ul>
</div><ul><li>Develop and conduct complex technical product/service seminars for contractors, distributors, utilities, engineers, and/or W/M field personnel</li>
<li>Facilitate/propel the sales process forward by lead generation and accelerating winning opportunities
</li><li>Move leads from training through the sales funnel.</li>
<li>Interface with Product Management, Technical Service, Engineering, and Training departments to become familiar with product changes, new products, application opportunities, and training programs to impart this information to appropriate field personnel.
</li><li>Identify and recommend required training, troubleshooting, and sales &amp; marketing collateral</li>
<li>Provide professional guidance and support at customer/contractor training meetings. Hold &ldquo;Train the Trainer&rdquo; meetings with sales team members prior to new product meetings with distributors and/or contractors.</li>
<li>Design and develop technical training content for Weil-McLain School of Better Heating (training modules and materials) and facilitate training at the events
</li><li>Provide supervision on problem jobs and identify individual training requirements</li>
<li>Communicate through a monthly report recurring product or service problems to Product Management and Engineering with copy to Regional Sales Managers</li>
<li>Act as technical expert at local, regional, and national tradeshows</li>
<li>Assist in product liability investigations, depositions and trials, as needed.</li></ul>

Required Experience
<ul><li>Minimum of three years of experience with mechanical &amp; electrical application for boiler installations</li>
<li>Five years of related hydronics industry and/or field sales experience</li>
<li>Basic computer skills, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
</li><li>Experience and familiarity with CRM tools &ndash; data capture, and reporting capabilities</li>
</ul> <ul><li>Demonstrates strong organizational skills, including follow up on action plans for individual and team members.</li>
<li>Strong public speaking and presentation skills</li>
<li>Demonstrates strong professional and technical competency.
</li></ul><ul><li>Presentation and communication of technical material to a diverse group.</li>
<li>Negotiation and problem-solving abilities that allow for win/win solutions for our distributors, contractors, engineers and Weil-McLain.</li>

Education &amp; Certifications

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $86,900 - $120,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate&rsquo;s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a performance bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan. JOB SUMMARY

The Claims and Legal Operations Manager will support the SPX Legal Department with the management of claims and litigation matters as well as day‑to‑day legal operations activities. Management of claims and litigation matters includes, but is not limited to, supporting SPX attorneys in the management and organization of claims or litigation matters, coordinating with appropriate SPX business unit personnel in the gathering of data, the transfer of data to outside counsel or external experts, and communicating with third‑party claims representatives, outside counsel, SPX Risk Management, insurance broker representatives, and other service providers. Legal operations activities include partnering with members of the SPX Legal Department to improve how legal services are delivered across the organization and to optimize use of various tools associated with the delivery of such services. Legal Operations will focus on driving efficiency, cost control, process improvement, technology enablement, and data‑driven decision‑making throughout the Legal Department.

This position is based in Charlotte with a hybrid (3 days in office) work schedule.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Support attorneys with management of claims and litigation</li>
<li>Assist outside counsel with data collection in litigation matters and coordinate communication with third‑party claims representatives, outside counsel, SPX Risk Management, insurance broker representatives, and other service providers</li>
<li>Assist with general case management</li>
<li>Assist with legal due diligence and discovery projects, when necessary</li>
<li>Design, document, and improve Legal Department workflows, processes, and standard operating procedures</li>
<li>Manage operational aspects of outside counsel relationships, such as onboarding, rate negotiations, budgeting, and performance reviews</li>
<li>Oversee management of legal spend, matter‑level budgeting, accruals, and forecasting by utilizing metrics and KPIs to provide insights into team performance, spend, and productivity</li>
<li>Manage and improve billing guidelines and invoice review processes</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to reduce spend or inefficiencies</li>
<li>Manage and serve as primary administrator of the e‑billing/matter management tool (currently Legal Tracker)</li>
<li>Lead efforts to optimize use of Legal Department tools (e‑billing, matter management, contract lifecycle management, document management, etc.)</li>
<li>Drive adoption and training of Legal Department tools</li>
<li>Manage engagement and communication tools within the Legal Department, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders (currently MS Teams and SharePoint)</li>
<li>Provide reports and other requested information to the General Counsel and other Legal Department members</li>
<li>Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES
<ul>
<li>General knowledge of products liability, personal injury, and general litigation, along with processes for tendering claims to insurers</li>
<li>Proven project management and process improvement skills, including experience driving continuous improvement into workflows, processes, and standard operating procedures</li>
<li>Ability to quickly learn new technology, including e‑billing software, matter management software, contract lifecycle management software, document management tools, and engagement/communication tools (Legal Tracker, Ironclad, MS Teams, SharePoint, Qlik)</li>
<li>Understanding of Legal Department economics, outside‑counsel management, and billing practices</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into practical insights</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills and comfort working with senior leadership</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to move quickly between topics or issues</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment</li>
<li>Self‑directed with excellent initiative and organizational skills</li>
<li>Strong ability to manage multiple demands with urgency, drive, and energy</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience
<ul>
<li>Associate&rsquo;s Degree or higher</li>
<li>5+ years of prior relevant experience, ideally in a corporate legal or private legal practice environment</li>
</ul>
Preferred Education / Experience
<ul>
<li>Paralegal certificate; insurance adjuster license; CPCU designation; or other equivalent experience</li>
</ul>
