How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Welder, you will perform welding operations to assemble and secure sheet metal for electrical and industrial equipment, according to engineering drawings and specifications. 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
<div><ul><li>Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.</li></ul></div> 

<div><ul><li>Welds or tack welds metal parts together, using tig welding, mig welding, or spot welding equipment.</li></ul></div> 

<div><ul><li>Removes rough spots from workpiece, using grinder, sander, or saw.</li></ul></div> 

<div><ul><li>May be trained and tested to be ASME certified.</li></ul></div> 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
<ul><li>One to three months related experience and/or training</li>
<li>Ability to correctly read a tape measure.
</li><li>Ability to read engineering drawings.
</li><li>Knowledge of tig welding, mig welding, and spot welding equipment and techniques.</li></ul> 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul><li>Tig welding, Mig welding, and stick welding certification</li>
<li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li></ul> 

Travel &amp; Working Environment
<ul><li>Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</li></ul> 

<ul><li>Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.</li></ul>

As a Buyer, you will be critical to the company&rsquo;s success by effectively managing the purchase order process, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products. As a key member of the purchasing team, you will follow up on outstanding receipts for purchase orders, expedite purchase order changes, and will be integral to projects related to purchasing and inventory control. The successful Buyer will have expertise in procurement processes as well as strong organizational and communication skills.</div>

<ul><li>Purchase Orders &amp; Buying Strategies</li></ul>
</div><ul><li>Issue and manage purchase orders in alignment with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and production schedules</li>
<li>Monitor and track outstanding purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of products</li>
<li>Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues or delays to ensure inventory availability and timely delivery</li>
<li>Update purchase order information as needed (cost, quantity, delivery date)</li>
<li>Coordinate with internal teams to implement necessary modifications and ensure accurate order fulfilment
</li><li>Communicate delivery times and updates through computerized system (Birst)</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records, including purchase orders and supplier information</li>
<li>Manage one to several commodities of raw materials based on team needs</li>
<li>Foster positive relationships with suppliers, acting as a key point of contact for inquiries and issue resolution</li></ul>

<ul><li>Inventory Control and Reporting
</li></ul></div><ul><li>Collaborate with others (manufacturing, sourcing, engineering) to maintain accurate inventory levels</li>
<li>Monitor stock levels, identify discrepancies, and proactively address shortages or excesses</li>
<li>Analyse purchasing data, supplier performance levels, purchase history, and cost trends</li>
<li>Generate reports and provide insights to management to support decision making processes</li></ul>

Required Experience
<ul><li>3+ years of buying/purchasing experience within a manufacturing or industrial role.</li>
<li>Proficiency in using ERP systems (Infor, MAPICS, SAP) and scheduling programs such as Microsoft Planner.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory control, and supply chain principles.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.</li>
<li>Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.</li></ul> 


Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Experience in a multi-site purchasing team</li>
<li>A self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for continuous learning.</li>
<li>Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, with a professional demeanor.</li>
<li>Detailed oriented approach, ensuring accuracy and completeness in data entry and reporting.</li>
<li>Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data driven decisions.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), particularly Excel for data analytics.</li></ul> 


Education &amp; Certifications

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.</li></ul>
