<p></p><div><p>Assists Branch Lead or Senior Librarian with the day-to-day operation of the branch including circulation, reference, and material selection and processing, special programming, public computer assistance and outreach. Position may constitute work at the Main Library in various departments and/or at a branch library.</p><p><b>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>
Gives friendly and helpful service to library users.</li><li>
Conducts circulation activity, entering data into computer, searching and checking customer files, including registering new patrons.</li><li>
Checks library materials in and out using the library's automated library system.</li><li>
Fills requests for reserved materials.</li><li>
Performs miscellaneous material collection related duties as assigned.</li><li>
Provides research assistance to patrons, helping them gain access to both manual and computer generated information.</li><li>
Facilitate and present new and innovative programs to assigned demographic patron groups.</li><li>
Provides patron training in the use of various technology and services provided by the library.</li><li>
Provides reader advisory assistance to patrons as needed.</li><li>
Performs a wide variety of routine clerical tasks including maintaining records and collecting and recording fines.</li><li>

<div><p>Carries out the tasks and functions of the 72nd District Court Work Program. Supervises on-site functions, specifically site safety, defendant accountability and task completion. Conducts roll call and maintains accountability for program participation throughout the day. Coordinates with on-site organizational members to ensure or enhance task completion. Records and reports the status of defendant compliance, attendance and behavior.<br>
