<div>Please note that this is a temporary position, with scheduled hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. 
Performs variety of duties related to general servicing of aircraft (e.g. fueling, parking, towing, moving aircraft) as well as providing stellar service to the crew, passengers and clients who use St. Clair County International Airport. General custodial and maintenance work in the cleaning, repair and maintenance of the Airport buildings, runway and grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Perform fueling/de-icing aircraft as needed.</li><li>
Responsible for greeting, parking, and marshaling aircraft arriving and/or departing the airfield</li><li>
Work with payment transactions utilizing point of sales system</li><li>
Accurately track aircraft fueling, payments and the cash drawer</li><li>
Answer incoming phone calls/transfer calls appropriately</li><li>
Follow and comply with all aviation safety rules and regulations</li><li>
Perform daily/monthly/quarterly/annual fuel/delivery system quality assurance checks</li><li>
Assist passengers and/or crew with baggage/cargo</li><li>
Provide customer with professional service and assistance with hotel, car and other travel reservations.</li><li>
Set-up and confirm catering orders with restaurants</li><li>
Assist with wing-walking duties during aircraft movements</li><li>
Dust, sweep, mop wax furniture and floors.</li><li>
Clean and maintain restrooms.</li><li>
Wash and/or paint windows, walls, woodwork.</li><li>
Gather and dispose of refuse.</li><li>
Operate maintenance and custodial equipment and tools.</li><li>
Maintain records and reports as required.</li><li>
Operate custodial and maintenance equipment.</li><li>
Inspect/maintain Airport/Airfield on a daily basis.</li><li>
Perform related custodial and maintenance work as required.</li><li>
Perform airfield operations and maintenance activities on the airfield and buildings.</li><li>
Respond to accidents/incidents involving aircraft.</li><li>
Ensure proper safe airfield conditions.</li><li>
Assists the director in daily administrative and operational control of the airport and its resources.</li><li>
Assist in analyzing of fuel sales, volumes and inventory.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
An employee in this classification is subject to the direct supervision of the Airport Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION:<ul><li>
Possession of a high school degree or equivalent required.</li><li>
General maintenance and operation of heavy equipment required.</li><li>
Experience in airport operations and/or aviation preferred but not required.</li><li>
CDL with airbrake endorsement preferred but not required.</li><li>
Automated External Defibrillator and CPR Certification required.</li><li>
Basic firefighting techniques required.</li><li>
Reasonable knowledge and experience in the use of materials and equipment used in performing a variety of airfield, building and grounds cleaning and maintenance work.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of electrical, with reasonable knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and heavy equipment repair.</li><li>
Understanding of Airfield safety standards.</li><li>
Knowledge of principles and procedures or airfield maintenance.</li><li>
Ability to remain calm under pressure.</li><li>
Writing, reading, mathematical principles; proficient computer skills-Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook; exercise sound judgment and decision making in accordance with policies and procedures; ability to research and problem solve independently; knowledge of County operations and functions; ability to prioritize and time manage; handle stressful situations, provide effective and friendly customer service; support the County's mission and values; ability to think critically where necessary.</li><li>
Knowledge or understanding of basic administrative tasks: operate standard office equipment; document management; prepare and maintain records, various correspondences and reports; answer general inquiries and refer as necessary; answer telephone calls, process mail, order supplies/equipment; prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, record/transcribe/distribute minutes; entering, transcribing, recording, storing or maintaining information in written or electronic form with speed and accuracy; maintain calendars, arrange meetings, schedule rooms and equipment as necessary.</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with management, co-workers and clients; obtain and communicate accurate information; apply common sense understanding to complex instructions and respond accordingly; communicate complex ideas through graphs, charts, presentations, reports or other professional correspondence.</li></ul>

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:<ul><li>
Prior to starting employment, the candidate must complete a satisfactory background check. The background check is understood to encompass all forms of pre-employment screening, including but not limited to: drug screen, physical, criminal background, driving record, sex offender registry, education, training and licensing verification, employment history, credit check, and professional and personal references.</li><li>
Must possess a valid State of Michigan operator license and maintain this license throughout employment in this position.</li><li>
Complete aviation competence education training within 30 days of employment</li><li>
Must have MDOT DEQ Industrial Storm Water Certification within 90 days of employment in the position.</li></ul><ul><li>
Possession of a valid CPR, first aid and AED certification, or successfully complete the training within ninety (90) days of employment in the position.</li></ul>
