<div>St. Hilda's &amp; St. Hugh's School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Plan class activities/labs and lesson presentations that are appropriate for the class grade level and meet the individual needs, interests, and ability levels of all students.</li><li>
Design, plan, and implement inquiry-oriented Middle School Science lessons that motivate students and create active, phenomena-based learning experiences.</li><li>
Encourage middle school-aged students to think deeply about the curriculum, themselves, and the world around them through a lens of scientific inquiry</li><li>
Manage all classroom responsibilities, including designing and implementing a hands-on, interdisciplinary curriculum, differentiating instruction to meet all learners' needs, and utilizing various approaches to teaching and assessing students.
</li><li>Prepare and implement assessments that meet the needs of every student</li><li>
Utilize a variety/range of student learning modalities in each lesson and ensure differentiated instruction within those lessons</li><li>
Assess student strengths and weaknesses frequently and provide appropriate activities to address student needs.</li><li>
Ensure high-quality report writing and communication.
</li><li>Collect data on student progress, write reports, hold parent conferences, and meet with administrators and other faculty to support the needs of individual students.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with the division, department, and grade-level team(s) to shape and refine the curriculum.</li><li>
Build relationships with all students so they are actively engaged in classroom activities.</li><li>
Create and maintain a safe, well-structured physical environment that is conducive to student learning.</li><li>
Other Duties as assigned by the Head of School.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Science or education required. Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
Skills:<ul><li>
Demonstrated ability to engage the interest of middle school-age children.</li><li>
At least three years of relevant classroom teaching experience.</li><li>
Ability to teach multiple levels of science.</li><li>
Ability to work well with students, parents, and all members of the community.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to evaluate improved learning, habits, and measurements of achievement.</li><li>
An active curiosity about children and their success.</li><li>
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment.</li></ul>
