St. Joseph High School (Trumbull, CT) seeks a Sports Information &amp; Assistant Athletic Director.Reports to: Director of Athletics Position Type: Part-Time (30 hours per week) / Stipend-Based ($32,500) Hours: M-F 2:00pm-7:00pm School Year, Saturdays 5 hours on average Summers: M-F 9:00am-3:00pm Start Date: July 1, 2026Position Overview: The Sports Information &amp; Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of athletic communications to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging coverage of our school&rsquo;s athletic program. This position plays a vital role in promoting student-athletes, enhancing school spirit, and supporting the Athletics Department&rsquo;s communication strategies through digital platforms, in-game coverage, photography, and video content. The position will also assist the Athletic Director, with administrative responsibilities, gameday operations and site supervision.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Website &amp; Digital Updates</li><li>Maintain and update the Athletics section of the school website, including:</li><li>Team rosters and photos</li><li>News articles, announcements, and season summaries</li></ul>Social Media Management &amp; Live Coverage<ul><li>Serve as the primary content creator for Athletics social media (under the SJ Brand account)</li><li>Post real-time updates during games and events using Stories, Reels, and Live Video</li><li>Highlight student-athletes through captain spotlights and achievement features</li><li>Promote daily/weekly game schedules and key matchups</li><li>Celebrate athletic milestones, awards (All-State, All-Conference), and team accomplishments</li></ul>Photography &amp; Visual Media<ul><li>Capture photography for some key events, including:</li><li>Senior Night celebrations</li><li>Team photos and action shots</li><li>Support parent volunteers for photography needs</li></ul>Student Intern &amp; Journalism Support<ul><li>Supervise and collaborate with student interns or journalism club members to:</li><li>Feature game recaps, athlete interviews, and editorial content</li><li>Share student-created content across platforms</li></ul>Scoreboard &amp; Video Content Support<ul><li>Assist with planning, developing, and operating content for the digital video scoreboard during home games and events</li><li>Create visual assets, hype videos, or sponsor slides to enhance the in-game experience</li></ul>Site Supervision Support<ul><li>Provide game day site supervision and game operations support</li><li>Help coordinate and run score clock operations</li><li>Work and greet officials on game days</li><li>Assistant with Gate/Ticket operations</li></ul>Administrative Functions<ul><li>Coordinate End of Season team awards and banquets with head coaches</li><li>Draft and assist AD with field/gym schedules</li><li>Update CIAC/FCIAC rosters for eligibility requirements</li><li>Conduct and coordinate college coaches visits on campus</li><li>Inputting of all game scores daily to the CIAC/FCIAC/SJ websites</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience in content creation, social media management, and sports communications</li><li>Strong writing, editing, and photography/videography skills</li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for game coverage</li><li>Familiarity with high school athletics and a passion for promoting student-athletes</li><li>Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li></ul>Preferred Skills:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Communications, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools</li><li>Knowledge of website CMS platforms and score-reporting systems</li><li>Familiarity with digital scoreboards or broadcasting software</li><li>Gameday operations and management experience in high school or college athletics</li></ul>If interested in the position please email a cover letter and current resume to Kevin Butler, Athletic Director at kbutler@sjcadets.org.Pay: $32,500.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Work Location: In person
