We are seeking a mission driven and dedicated Medical Assistant who will focus on the maintenance and logics of medications and vaccines at each of our clinics as well as work with patients in the communities of Orange County (Fullerton, Anaheim and Orange).<ul><li>
Bilingual (English/Spanish)</li><li>
Organizational skills to ensure compliance for the medication rooms across all SJNH Clinics.</li><li>
Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team that includes social workers, physicians, nurse practitioners, and case managers.</li><li>
St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers utilizes EPIC for our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.</li><li>
Provide Medical Assisting support to providers in clinic or on a mobile medical clinic as needed.</li><li>
Assigned location is in Fullerton, however incumbent will work at multiple locations within Orange County, Anaheim/Fullerton, plus mobile clinic sites as needed.</li><li>
We are open Monday - Monday - Saturday from 8am to 5pm in Fullerton.</li></ul>

Our health centers use a team-based model of care that includes family medicine, obstetrics, women&rsquo;s health, oral and vision care, preventative and educational health, mental health, patient advocacy, case management, and community health. Most of our patients live below 200% of the Federal Poverty level and are best served in Spanish. Through our origins with St. Joseph Health, we have provided care to low-income families since the 1980s, maintaining a commitment to serving our most vulnerable neighbors with high-quality, nationally recognized care. Essential Functions (What You Do).<ul><li>
Assist medical providers in providing high quality, efficient and service-oriented patient care.</li><li>
Conduct work under the scope of a Medical Assistant.</li><li>
Clearly and efficiently document all patient interactions within their medical record.</li><li>
Assists with patient registration, referrals, scheduling, and exam room turnover.</li><li>
Provide English/Spanish translation for medical providers and patients.</li><li>
Maintain all medication rooms to audit ready standards including appropriate stocking and monitoring for expired medications.</li><li>
Will monitor, assist, and facilitate the logistics of all medications, including those for HIV prevention and treatment.</li><li>
HIV Services Coordination.</li><li>
Coordinate VFC, VFA and other immunizations across all sites. This includes coordination, procuring, transporting, auditing, and meeting reporting requirements.</li><li>
Assist with training and ongoing competencies to medication management and immunization standards.</li><li>
Upholds all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and other regulatory compliance and safety requirements. Remain current on all credentialing requirements.</li><li>
Drive the mobile medical clinic as needed.</li></ul>
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.16 per hour

Requirements:

Education:<ul><li>
Must have a certificate of completion from an accredited school of training for medical assisting.</li></ul>
License/ Certifications:<ul><li>
Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA approved program.</li><li>
Medical Assistant Certificate</li><li>
Valid California ID or Driver's license</li></ul>
Experience:<ul><li>
Minimum of 6-months of experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent.</li></ul>
Preferred:<ul><li>
Experience with Epic EMR</li><li>
Knowledge of CAIR 2.0, MyCalVax, EZIZ</li><li>
Community Clinic Experience</li><li>
Knowledge of VFC Program Requirements</li></ul>
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:<ul><li>
Demonstrates the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish without an</li><li>
interpreter.</li><li>
Demonstrates interpersonal/cultural sensitivity and work with a diverse and often</li><li>
underserved population.</li><li>
Effective written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization</li><li>
and with vendors.</li><li>
Highly organized with strong time management skills, being able to perform</li><li>
simultaneous tasks, prioritize them effectively and follow through quickly.</li><li>
Proficiency with EMR systems.</li><li>
Available to work Saturdays as business needs require.</li><li>
Ability to travel utilizing personal vehicle to travel between sites.</li></ul></div>
