Your Opportunity
We are seeking a forward-thinking ML/AI Engineer with a strong foundation in AI and a growing specialization in agentic AI, including both single-agent and multi-agent systems. This role will support our expanding portfolio of AI-driven solutions in the water sector, contributing to a range of projects that involve complex systems, data-driven decision-making, and intelligent automation.
You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, engineers, and domain experts to design, prototype, and deploy agentic AI solutions that enhance operational efficiency, system adaptability, and innovation across diverse water-related challenges. You will report to an Innovation Portfolio Manager in Stantec Water BOU&rsquo;s Office of Research, Innovation and Technology.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Design and implement agentic AI systems, including single-agent and multi-agent architectures, for applications in water infrastructure, forecasting, optimizations, and operations.</li>
<li>Collaborate with ML/AI leads to integrate LLMs and autonomous agents into existing and new solution pipelines.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development of exploratory prototypes and production-ready tools that leverage agentic reasoning, planning, and collaboration.</li>
<li>Support the MLOps lifecycle, including model tracking (e.g., MLflow), deployment, and monitoring within Azure DevOps and Databricks environments.</li>
<li>Translate domain-specific challenges into scalable AI solutions, working closely with water engineers and project teams.</li>
<li>Stay current with emerging research and tools in Machine Learning, agentic AI, reinforcement learning, and multi-agent systems.</li>
<li>Document methodologies, share learnings, and contribute to internal knowledge bases and Communities of Practice.</li>
</ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s+ degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.</li>
<li>5+ years total professional experience, 1+ of hands-on experience in machine learning and AI development, with exposure to agentic AI concepts (e.g., autonomous agents, multi-agent coordination, LLM-based agents).</li>
<li>Familiarity with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, OpenAI APIs) and multi-agent orchestration tools. Hands-on experience building AI agents with LLMs, including RAG, using these frameworks is preferred.</li>
<li>Strong programming skills with Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and cloud-based ML platforms (preferably Azure). Skills in multiple languages (e.g., Java, Node.js) is a benefit.</li>
<li>Understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.</li>
<li>Experience or interest in water systems, environmental modeling, or Microsoft Azure SDKs such as AI Foundry is a plus.</li>

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Texas Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Interior Design, and Buildings Engineering services with a long history and deep commitment to the education sector. Our Houston office is seeking a Designer to support K-12 projects. In this role you will be designing schematics specialized in space programming and site planning as well as developing elevations, sections, and architectural details for projects. You will be assisting with innovative and creative new prototypes, designed with sustainable products with green architecture sensibility as your goals.
Your Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Supports project teams in development of design documentation.</li>
<li>Assists in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.</li>
<li>Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.</li>
<li>Participates in design critiques and pin-ups.</li>
<li>Interprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.</li>
<li>Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.</li>
<li>Coordinates building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.</li>
<li>Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.</li>
<li>Coordination of specs with construction documents.</li>
<li>Assists in the evaluation and selection of building systems and materials.</li>
<li>Attends project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.</li>
<li>Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.</li>
<li>Implements sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment.</li>

<ul><li>Passion for and experience with K-12/education building types</li>
<li>Basic knowledge and application of accessibility codes and applicable building codes.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards is expected.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.</li>
<li>Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building program.</li>
<li>To develop floor plans, wall sections, and details.</li>
<li>To check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.</li>
<li>To participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production.</li>
<li>To engage in creative and critical thought. To hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.</li>

<li>Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit; Prefer experience with Abobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, and Sefaira.</li>
</ul>Education and Experience
<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Architecture or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in support of licensure criteria.</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of experience</li>
<li>Registered Architect or actively pursuing licensure.</li>
</ul>Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
