Program Overview</div><div>
The Starr Summer Internship Program is a 9-week paid internship opportunity designed to identify, develop, and retain high-potential college students. Used as a pipeline for full-time talent, this program offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in the insurance industry.</div><div>
As an Intern, you will work in one of Starr&rsquo;s various departments, learning business and contributing to your team. The internship complements your department work by offering professional development opportunities and exposure to key functions of the organization.</div><div></div><div>
This Intern position will work in the Management Consulting department in NYC.</div><div>
 **This is not a rotational program**</div><div></div><div>
Duties and Responsibilities:</div><ul><li>
Support project teams by conducting analysis and research to inform strategic recommendations.</li><li>
Assist in preparing presentation materials, reports, and executive summaries to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.</li><li>
Participate in project meetings, document key discussion points, and track action items to ensure project momentum and alignment.</li><li>
Proactively learn about Starr and the property &amp; casualty insurance industry to contextualize consulting work.</li><li>
Attend informational meetings with leaders and peers from various business units to gain a holistic understanding of Starr, develop professional relationships, and identify business drivers and challenges.</li></ul><div>
 Program Objectives</div><ul><li>
Gain hands-on training from seasoned managers/mentors.</li><li>
Learn the nuances of key functions and within a leading commercial insurance company.</li><li>
Develop professionally in a corporate workplace by participating in programs designed to improve presentation, networking, communication, and other non-technical skills.</li><li>
Interact with interns across the country in an intensive 9-week training program.</li><li>
Present a comprehensive risk analysis with a group of peers to demonstrate knowledge and skills learned.</li></ul><div>
Skills and Experience Required:</div><ul><li>
Rising Senior</li><li>
Risk Management, Insurance, Business or STEM major or student with relevant coursework.</li><li>
A proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to problem-solve and think analytically.</li><li>
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.</li><li>
A self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for learning and growth and demonstrated leadership potential.</li></ul><div></div><div>
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $24-$28/hour.</div><div></div><div>
