You will be responsible for creating interactive online resources, paper and electronic maps, and digital story maps that translate Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment (WQMA) data into meaningful tools for public education and decision-making. Additional core responsibilities include managing data across various WQMA databases, maintaining detailed metadata, and collaborating with program staff to identify lake or wetland footprints and map impaired waters coverages for the biennial 303(d)/305(b) Integrated Report.</p><p></p><p><br>
Watershed Project Development &amp; Field Implementation</p><p></p><p><br>
This position demands a proactive approach to watershed project development, field implementation, and post-project evaluation. You will provide essential GIS data and technical guidance to watershed sponsors and project coordinators, utilizing tools like the Agricultural Conservation Planning Framework (ACPF) and custom watershed characterization models. Furthermore, you will design mobile tools to collect field data and facilitate watershed fieldwork assessments targeting tillage practices, streambank and shoreline erosion, stream corridor characterization, and the location and condition of existing Best Management Practices (BMPs).</p><p></p><p><br>
GIS Training, Technical Mentorship, &amp; Liaison Duties</p><p></p><p><br>
A defining aspect of this role is serving as an active technical mentor and educator for the bureau. You will regularly provide one-on-one coaching and organized training sessions to assist non-GIS professional staff and local project partners with basic to intermediate GIS needs and nonpoint source pollution reduction calculations. To build long-term capacity, you will author clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and build user-friendly map templates so that fellow staff can generate their own ongoing GIS products. Your communication and presentation skills will be utilized as you represent the Department at regional or national meetings, deliver formal presentations to public stakeholders, and serve as a liaison with other state and federal agencies. Finally, you will support data governance by collaborating with DNR staff and the Department of Management Division of Information Technology (DOM-DoIT) to establish unified enterprise data standards for all GIS-related projects.</p><p><b>

In relation to Water Quality Monitoring and Data: Performs high-level spatial analyses and produce documents using GIS software such as ESRI's ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Spatial Analyst modeling tools, ArcGIS Online, and other platforms for data visualization.</li><li>
Utilizes computers and database computer software products for the purposes of managing watershed and water quality monitoring data, and project-based data sets, and for generating maps, reports, tables, charts, trends, story maps, and other data visualization products.</li><li>

<p></p><div><div>The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Family Well-Being and Protection, Bureau of Child Protective Services, is seeking a Child &amp; Family Services Case Manager to join our team!</div><div><br>
This position is located in Burlington and will cover that and surrounding counties.</div><div><br>
This is a full-time opportunity, Monday &ndash; Friday with typical hours being from 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM with paid overtime as needed including after-hours and weekend on call rotation. All paid overtime must be pre-approved by leadership.</div><div><br>
The primary purpose for this position is to work with families in which child abuse and/or neglect has occurred. The focus is to decrease the likelihood of continued abuse while preserving families. We do our best to keep families together, however, there are times in which this is not possible. In these circumstances, children may have to be removed from parental custody and placed in another home, preferably still with family. As a Social Work Case Manager, there will be times in which you will have to remove children. This can be a difficult and challenging process.</div><div><b><br>
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</b></div><div><ul><li>
Assess the ongoing risk to children, develop safety plans, assess the strengths, and needs of the child and family, and make recommendations to various county attorneys and courts.</li><li>
Frequent interaction with law enforcement, medical/mental health community partners, schools, etc.</li><li>
Requires the ability to apply Iowa Code, agency policy, and sound professional judgment to highly complex situations involving crises and or chronic abuse or neglect</li><li>
All cases assigned to persons in this position require home visits, detailed interviews, and thorough narrative documentation</li><li>
Troubleshoots problematic situations to find innovative solutions to present to administration and the supervisor. Confronts crisis situations and high stress situations in a calm and orderly manner. Maintaining confidential information as required by the agency and assuring safety is a top priority for all in the office</li><li>
Obtain information from a wide variety of sources, including written materials, telephone conversations and through computer databases and to be able to read and interpret the data</li><li>
Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain reasonable facts, data, or other information that analyzes information and draws accurate conclusions</li><li>
