 </ul>
 Military Security Guards provide 24 hour a day security coverage. Days off will vary according to the shift you are assigned to.
 
 
 Journeyman level, experienced security work in support of a National Guard facility, armed security work providing protection &amp; security for property and personnel at a Minnesota Air National Guard U.S. Military Facility. The work involves regulating movement in and out of the 148 Fighter Wing, enforcing regulations and rules, guarding against vandalism and burglary, assisting in building evacuation, applying first-aid, patrolling air base, HR-RTF 8.11.2009, munitions storage areas and aircraft parking areas, provide armed emergency response to accidents, incidents and other unusual occurrences, prepares detailed incident reports and maintains log records.
 
 
 Must have successfully completed any Military Police/Security Course that awards and Air Force AFSC, Army or Marine MOS, or Navy 9545 N EC or Master at Arms rating, or equivalent civilian type training. IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THIS TRAINING, YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
 
 
 
 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 All applicants are required to be armed in the course of their duties and must be eligible under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Individuals convicted of domestic violence are not eligible for hire or retention.
 </li>
 <li>
 Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D driver&rsquo;s license (or other state&rsquo;s equivalent).
 </li>
 <li>
 All applicants must obtain a favorable National Agency Check with Local Records and Credit Check (NACLC). Personnel may be hired prior to a completed check. Failure to obtain or retain a favorable NACLC for a position of trust is basis for removal.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 Knowledge of:

 Must possess a valid Class D driver&rsquo;s license, this is a basic driver's license; and be eligible to obtain a US government drivers' license. Must be qualified or be capable of becoming qualified to bear firearms in accordance with Federal Law.
 
 
 Must be able to pass a complete criminal background investigation and be eligible to possess a secret security clearance. Ability to physically apprehend, detain and restrain suspects.
 
 
 
 Preferred Qualifications
 
 
 
 Considerable knowledge of response procedures, regulations, and administrative rules governing the protection of personnel and resources for a National Guard facility and where to seek assistance in emergency situations.
 
 
 Security/military police/law enforcement training. This is further defined as the formal awarding of Army MOS (95B or 31B), Marine MOS (5811), or a Navy Master at Arms rating NEC (9545);
 
 
 Successful completion the U.S.A.F Security Police/Forces Academy Apprentice Course;
 
 
 Minnesota P.O.S.T Board certification eligibility, or civilian equivalent work experience or training.
 
 
 Proficiency and experience with:
 
 
 <ul>

 Proper safety precautions and procedures dealing with firearms.
 </li>
 <li>
 First aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator techniques.
 </li>
 <li>
 Principles of effective public relations and communications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Radio, Computer and Alarm System operations
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Physical Requirements
 
 
 
 Applicants may be expected to meet physical agility and medical standards for fitness. Hearing in both ears, vision in both eyes, acceptable color vision. Capable of standing for prolonged periods and able to walk moderate distances and climb stairs. The ability to speak English clearly and effectively is essential.
