Under general supervision, performs a variety of Human Resources functions to include but not limited to recruitment (requesting register, reviewing applications, calling applicants, etc.), employee relations (submit the following to DASHR: PLOA, FMLA, UL, WC, etc.), benefits (new hire enrollment, open enrollment, look into issues, etc.), payroll (approve timecards, review preliminary report, new hire payroll, etc.), timekeeping, ensure personnel records are up to date, conduct new hire orientation, send in separations to DASHR and create job postings. Will act as Workers' Comp coordinator and be the main contact for DASHR. Performs other duties as assigned.</div><br>

In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB3088).</b></div></li><li><div><b>
Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.</b></div></li><li><p><b>
If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.</b></p></li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

Make a <b>DIFFERENCE</b> as the Procurement Associate in the Purchasing and Business Finance Department of Denmar Correctional Center &amp; Jail located in Pocahontas County. Under general supervision, the incumbent completes all purchasing for the Denmar Facility. This includes reviewing purchasing requests, determining availability, securing bids, serving as contact person for vendors and shipping, resolving problems, keeping records, reconciling P-cards, and paying bills timely. This position also serves as backup for the inmate trustee clerk position. Duties of the inmate trustee clerk position include posting of money and vouchers to inmate accounts along with writing inmate checks.<div></div><div><b><br>

<div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Nature of Work</b></h2></div>
<div><p>Under general supervision, evaluates court orders sentencing state inmates, calculates necessary dates of release/discharge and establishes initial entry into computer program, and updates as necessary. Sets up inmate files using established office procedures. Contacts institution records supervisors to resolve discrepancies between institutional records and central office records. Maintains inmate files on a daily basis by recording disciplinary violations, movements, changes in sentencing, additional sentences, etc. Files documents received for the central office files. Closes and stores files based on receipt of proper documentation releasing inmates from further incarceration (i.e., discharge certificates, court orders, death certificates, etc.). Maintains and monitors listings of inmates granted parole, prepares parole release documents, obtains required signatures, and forwards to the appropriate institution. Answers telephonic inquires from courts, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement, victims, family members, etc., regarding inmate's status. Enters data in inmate records system in compliance with established office procedure and policy. Compiles statistical reports as required by the supervisor.<br>

Substitution: </b>Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, corrections, social work or related behavioral or social science field may substitute for the required experience at the rate of fifteen (15) semester hours of training for every one (1) year of experience.</div><b><br>
