This position will process student forms related to registration, assist with the course build process, and be responsible for TEACH authorizations, student biographical data, and degree conferral checklists.<br>

<div><div><b>Major Responsibilities</b></div>
<div><div><b>Office Support</b></div><ul>
<li>Front desk/office reception, greet and direct students, answer phones, and respond to emails.</li>
<li>Interact positively with other office staff, students, faculty, and other visitors to the office.</li>
<li>Oversee daily mail operations by efficiently sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondence.</li><br>

Registration &amp; Course Adjustments</b></div><ul>
<li>Manage student registration processes by reviewing and approving alternate registrations, credit overloads, and course withdrawals.</li>
<li>Evaluate special enrollment requests, including time conflict overrides, prior felony disclosures, and undergraduate permission to take graduate courses.</li>
</ul><div></div><div><b>
Records Administration &amp; Student Tracking</b></div><ul>
<li>Maintain student data integrity by updating biographical information, including change of address forms.</li>
<li>Track specialized student populations to ensure compliance and support, with a focus on Honors program students and veteran/military-connected individuals.</li>
</ul><div></div><div><b>
Academic Scheduling &amp; Graduation Services</b></div><ul>
<li>Maintain accurate semester schedules by updating course sections within the Banner student information system.</li>
<li>Facilitate graduation clearance through the processing of degree conferral checklists, enter TEACH authorizations into the database, and update special graduate-level course approvals.</li>

Training</b></div><ul><li>
Participate in continuing education activities such as computer classes/programs and other relevant professional development.</li></ul></div>

<div><div><b>Functional and Supervisory Relationships</b></div>
<ul><li>Reports to the University Registrar.</li>
<li>Works closely with all academic departments in the Schools of Education, Arts &amp; Sciences, and Professional Studies, and administrative offices, including Student Accounts and the offices of the Associate Deans Offices.</li>

<div><div><b>Required Qualifications</b></div>
<div><div><b>1. Permanent Competitive Appointment Options:</b><br>
To be appointed on a PERMANENT basis to this title, you must hold or have held the title of Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) or be reachable on the full-time NYS Civil Service list and respond to canvass letter that will be emailed to people on the eligible list. You may also qualify if you are permanent in the following title: Office Assistant 1.

<b>2. Non-Competitive Appointment Option:</b>
</div><div>This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).</div><div>
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required, but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.<br>
</div><div>At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified</div><div>
