Summary: The Sourcing Analyst is responsible for managing all types of packaging at Stella &amp; Chewy&rsquo;s with a primary focus on vendor relations, quality, and leading projects for product development. This role works closely with vendors, the production team, and the supply chain department to maintain efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role also works closely with the Brand and Product teams to develop, implement, and expand the packaging portfolio.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Partner with the planning and operation teams to ensure that the packaging schedule is fulfilled.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with product labeling, sealing, and packaging specifications.</li><li>
Coordinate efforts with the Packaging Engineer to ensure that quality protocols are followed in accordance with the bag specifications.</li><li>
Hold vendors accountable for all packaging defects, or delayed shipments.</li><li>
Manage the overall spend of packaging while adhering to budgeted numbers.</li><li>
Create annual budget and track performance to evolving forecasts, while reporting progress to management regularly.</li><li>
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for packaging in coordination with sourcing teams.</li><li>
Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, and quality terms as needed.</li><li>
Conduct regular quality checks on incoming bag shipments to ensure they meet company specifications.</li><li>
Collaborate with production planners, warehouse staff, and quality assurance teams to align packaging supply with operational requirements.</li><li>
Communicate any issues with bag quality, availability, or supplier performance to suppliers for corrective action.</li><li>
Engage with suppliers, product, and operations teams to develop and manage a cost savings pipeline/funnel/road map.</li><li>
Support Innovation, R&amp;D, and operational efficiency initiatives by identifying and communicating supplier capabilities.</li><li>
Managing transition deployment (substrate changes, regulatory requirements) with planning and suppliers</li><li>
Generate regular reports on bag usage, stock levels, and purchasing activity.</li><li>
Assist in developing packaging and bag specifications for new products or product updates.</li><li>
Set up quality and service scorecards and conduct regular review with suppliers</li><li>

Requirements:

Qualifications:<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor&rsquo;s degree in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing preferred or equivalent work experience</li><li>
2+ years of experience in packaging, inventory management, or procurement in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Experience working directly with vendors and managing packaging supplies, especially flexible packaging or bags, is strongly preferred.</li><li>
Strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>
Solid understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret technical packaging specifications.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP (e.g., D365, SAP, NetSuite, etc.)</li><li>
Strong communication and negotiation skills.</li><li>
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.</li></ul>
Requirement:<ul><li>
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.</li><li>
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.</li><li>
Occasional warehouse or vendor visits may be required.</li></ul></div>
