SUMMARY: This position will be expected to research, identify, and implement solutions for designing, manufacturing, and testing sensing products. They must be a skilled engineer and have a solid understanding of basic design, critical thinking, and troubleshooting techniques and principles. The Project Engineer II will provide both individual technical contributions and perform as a key member of a team that supports the design, development, and test of sensing products. Project scopes may include generating electrical and mechanical technical definitions, development of plans and resources to accomplish defined goals, monitoring &amp; recording of project progress, coordinating internal and external development efforts, coordinating internal and external test requirements, development of verification/validation procedures, and any other activities as needed by the Project Scope. Project management or support of major multi-disciplinary aerospace, or similar, program-oriented development projects will be required from project planning, progress maintenance, and implementation support perspective.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</h2><ul><li>
Contributes to the development of new product &amp; process requirements and documentation through review of customer specifications, contract documents, design packages, and industry standards, or through consulting with the customer and internal resources such as engineering, sales, etc.</li><li>
Develops BOMs, product routings, component design, product definitions, and is responsible for identifying any other required documentation to satisfy product deliverables.</li><li>
Performs in depth reviews of customers specifications to identify and author internal documentation such as acceptance test plans, qualification test plans, product definitions, engineering reports or other technical documents to ensure conformance to contract requirements.</li><li>
Contributes to the preparation and presentation of successful design reviews, including FMEAs, PFMEAs, compliance matrices, risk assessments, cost estimates, and technical write ups.</li><li>
Leads efforts to transition development products into the production environment while maintaining design integrity, producibility, and quality of production products.</li><li>
Maintains oversight of process development for internal methods and external vendors including development of technique sheets, process documentation, manufacturing instructions for instrumentation in aerospace or similar applications</li><li>
Develops resident expertise status related to Steller Technology product line certification &amp; regulatory compliance positioning.</li><li>
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">

QUALIFICATIONS:</h2><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.</li><li>
5-10 years of relevant engineering experience or 3-5 years relevant engineering experience and a Masters degree.</li><li>
Strong technical skills, mechanical designs and manufacturing knowledge including the ability to interpret, review, and modify technical drawings.</li><li>
Proficient in effective communication (verbal and written) with internal and external parties.</li><li>
Ability to generate end-to-end documentation required for product launch (internal, external, regulatory, and other third-party certification bodies).</li><li>
Exhibit self-starting instincts, strong analytical skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.</li><li>
Experienced in writing FMEA/PFMEA, Reliability Reports, and Risk Assessments.</li><li>
Knowledge of aerospace standards applicable to the design and test of sensor instrumentation.</li><li>
Knowledge of instrumentation manufacturing processes, special processes (welding, heat treatment &amp; passivation of material, etc.), NDE (ultrasonic inspection, dye penetrant inspection, mag particle inspection, etc.), environmental testing (shock, vibration, thermal cycling, ALT/HALT, etc.), and general aerospace manufacturing methods.</li><li>
Strong working knowledge of automated test equipment, test consoles, electrical component selection, test processes and procedures, facilities requirements, equipment maintenance, clean rooms, safety standards, and quality standards.</li><li>
Familiarity of signal capturing and processing for sensor instrumentation.</li><li>
Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity. (Company issued annual eye exam.)</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">

Project Engineer II

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for running and maintaining the process as well as seeking to continually improve the process; continually finding ways to improve quality and efficiency, both of which lead to a better product and reductions in the cost of producing the product. 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Independently identifies, plans and manages projects to improve and expand upon Production, Design, and Manufacturing processes. This can include oversight of cross functional team members, implementation of new equipment, introduction of new manufacturing processes, and other duties as necessary to support the project initiative.</li><li>
Maintains oversight of Production process efficiency, through dotted line reporting to the Production Manager, with the goal of increasing capacity through process improvement.</li><li>
Oversees production manufacturing processes and identifies optimization opportunities for product manufacturing technologies across the Company&rsquo;s portfolio.</li><li>
Acts as a liaison between Design Engineering and Production, reporting directly to Design Engineering, to ensure production processes satisfy current demand and support future growth.</li><li>
Responsible for process qualification including any compilation of data or evidence used to justify the introduction of new processes or the revision of current methodologies.</li><li>
Supports the NPI efforts for new manufacturing technologies and their development into Stellar&rsquo;s standard processes.</li><li>
Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities for the members of the team.</li><li>
Generates any necessary engineering documentation to communicate manufacturing, design, and related information to internal and external parties.</li><li>
Determines and reviews the Production requirements to support manufacturing and program capacity within all areas of the organization.</li><li>
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
