What You Will Do as a Hospice Aide

As a Hospice Aide, you will be responsible for observing patients, reporting/documenting these observations and care performed. Some of your primary responsibilities will include:<ul><li>
Providing personal care to patients including, bathing, changing bed linens, assisting with dressing, etc.</li><li>
Preparing nutritious meals and assisting in feeding</li><li>
Taking vitals such as, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure</li><li>
Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care</li><li>
Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as needed</li><li>
Assisting patients in the self-administration of medications</li><li>
Reporting on patients&rsquo; conditions and significant changes to the RN</li></ul>

Education, Licensure &amp; Certification Requirements<ul><li>
Meets training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws</li><li>
Must have a valid STNA license in the state of Ohio</li><li>
18 years of age or older</li><li>
Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision</li><li>
Active CPR certification</li></ul></div>
