Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30 am &ndash; 11:30 amPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:STORE CLEANLINESS/SAFETY:Tasks include:Daily:<ul><li>Vacuum all of store upstairs where there is carpet.</li><li>Sweep or vacuum stairwells/stairs with the exception of our paid cleaners deep clean every other week.</li><li>In the mornings, Windex the front store windows and window ledge.  Dust inside the window boxes or indoor ledge as necessary.</li><li>Maintenance of the kitchen/lunchroom including cleaning each morning, unloading the dishwasher, refilling supplies like paper towels, dish soap, etc.</li><li>Throw out all garbage and recycling from every area of the store.</li><li>Check supplies in restrooms and where there are sinks for filled paper towels, soap, toilet paper and tissues.</li><li>Check client hospitality to make sure beverages/waters are stocked/filled, note if we need to reorder anything</li><li>The above tasks apply to our locations at 46 and 52 LaSalle Road.</li></ul>Weekly:<ul><li>Empty can recycling</li><li>Spot clean the kitchen microwave, purge fridge of unmarked/dated items.</li><li>Check our soda vending machine and refill if necessary.</li><li>Ensure box supplies and other gift wrap supplies are fully replenished for both locations</li></ul>Monthly:<ul><li>Inspecting all fire extinguishers on the 1 of every month, signing off on individual inspections and then the master sheet. </li><li>Testing of emergency lights and exit signs</li><li>Walk through of property to check for any safety, electrical or lighting concerns.</li><li>Walk through of property to check for broken issues or items to report which may be a safety hazard.</li><li>Full cleaning and sanitizing of the refrigerator</li></ul>Occasional/Infrequent: <ul><li>During inclement weather, remove snow from the back porch and stairs and apply salt as needed.</li><li>Be available to assist with front entrance snow removal if our plow company has not yet arrived.</li><li>Monitor snow accumulation outside on our windows and remove snow if it poses a hazard.</li><li>Assist with occasional cleaning up out front from nighttime revelers, which may include cleaning up the trash they leave behind.</li><li>Assist with occasional clean-up of outside parking area for our staff when there is litter.</li><li>Assist with moving high traffic area rugs as needed between upstairs and downstairs or in different areas of the store.</li></ul>STORE MAINTENANCE:<ul><li>Perform routine maintenance for both stores such as changing light bulbs, simple plumbing issues, checking roof drains, maintaining sump pumps, and any other type of maintenance issue. Partner with corporate Facilities Manager as needed on more complex issues.</li><li>Conduct minor repairs on building structures as needed (e.g., touching up paint, fixing ceiling tiles, etc.)</li><li>Any other duties assigned by management may include assisting during busy periods by covering the front door during busy weekdays.</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Experience: 1&ndash;3 years of previous experience in maintenance.</li><li>Technical Skills: Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and basic carpentry preferred.</li><li>Physical Demands: Ability to work on feet for long periods, lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, etc.</li><li>Skills: Strong problem-solving, time management, organizational skills and the ability to work independently</li><li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent.</li></ul>Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Please tell us in a few words why you are interested in this position.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Facilities maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>Custodial: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Shift availability:<ul><li>Day Shift (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>West Hartford, CT 06110 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
