What We Offer

What We Are Looking For
 
<ul>
<li>12-semester or 18-quarter completed early childhood education units. The units shall include courses that cover the general areas of early child development, child, family, and community, and program/curriculum or a bachelor’s degree in early child development</li>
<li>Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Prior teaching experience with young students is preferred</li>

About the Role
 
The After School Mandarin Teacher is a vital part of our school community, carrying out many of the duties necessary for the day-to-day operations of the campus. This position will work as part of a team to develop a plan of instruction appropriate for the elementary students in our immersion program. The emphasis will be on vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This person must be professionally prepared to teach Mandarin to young children.

<li>Monitoring student behavior during meal service</li>
<li>Plan and organize after-school arts and crafts, games, and outdoor activities</li>
<li>Assist students with homework</li>
<li>Collaborate with other faculty and staff members</li>
<li>Be responsible for the safe supervision and care of students</li>
<li>Light sweeping, wiping down tables, and trash removal</li>
</ul>
What We Are Looking For
 <ul>
<li>High school graduate or GED</li>
<li>Prior experience working with children preferred</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and ability to connect with a variety of colleagues and students</li>
<li>Must be fluent in English and Mandarin</li>
<li>Be authorized to work in the U.S.</li>

About the Role
 As a Pre kindergarten teacher at Stratford School, you're responsible for creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for children between the ages of 4 and 5. You will provide a warm, caring, joyful environment that encourages preschoolers’ natural curiosity, and instills confidence in their innate abilities. You will help prepare them for Kindergarten!
