Position Overview:</b></p>
<p>
The EHS Technician is a direct, in-house employee dedicated exclusively to the safety, security, and compliance of Strive's premises. This is strictly an unarmed position at all times; no firearms or weapons are permitted on duty. The primary function of this role is to act as a visible deterrent, observe the facility, report anomalies or safety risks, and coordinate emergency responses. Personnel in this role will utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts but will have absolutely no authority to physically intervene, restrain, or detain individuals. The Technician will conduct continuous facility patrols, monitor life safety systems, audit contractor safety, and serve as the 24/7 focal point for critical utility reporting and emergency response.</p>

Key Responsibilities:</b></p>

Core Responsibilities &amp; Duties</p>
<ul>
<li>Continuously monitor the facility and grounds to identify safety risks, unauthorized access, or policy violations.</li>
<li>Act exclusively in an observe-and-report capacity during security or safety incidents.</li>
<li>Utilize approved verbal de-escalation techniques to diffuse tense situations and gain voluntary compliance from employees or visitors.</li>
<li>Adhere strictly to the mandate that this role does not possess&mdash;and must never exercise&mdash;the authority to physically intervene, restrain, or temporarily detain any employee, visitor, or intruder.</li>
<li>CCTV &amp; Access Control: Perform active CCTV monitoring and routine historical footage review (via CCURE/BMS platforms) to identify security vulnerabilities, safety violations, or unauthorized access.</li>
<li>24/7 BMS &amp; Utility Monitoring: Act as the primary after-hours and active-shift monitor for the Building Management System (BMS). Respond to and report alarms related to HVAC failures, cleanroom pressure differential drops, and temperature/humidity excursions.</li>
<li>Contractor Safety Reporting: Act as the EHS &quot;boots on the ground&quot; for contractor oversight. Audit contractor compliance regarding required PPE, Safe Work Permits (e.g., Confined Space, Hot Work, LOTO), and report safety deviations or &quot;near misses&quot; immediately</li>
</ul>
<p>Controlled Substance Security &amp; EHS Compliance</p>
<ul>
<li>Monitor access to high-security areas, including Schedule III controlled substance zones, ensuring strict adherence to Strive's documented security plans and DEA registration protocols.</li>
<li>Conduct routine safety walkthroughs to identify and mitigate environmental, health, and safety hazards.</li>
<li>Ensure daily operations comply with internal loss prevention policies.</li>
<li>Diesel Tank Inspections: Conduct routine checks and log fuel levels for the facility's emergency backup generator diesel tanks to ensure 24/7 readiness in the event of power loss.</li>
</ul>
<p>Emergency Coordination</p>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical responders when incidents escalate beyond verbal resolution, require physical intervention, or involve medical emergencies.</li>
<li>Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Coordinator: Serve as the designated on-site incident coordinator during medical emergencies, fire alarms, or chemical spills, guiding first responders to the scene and facilitating building evacuations.</li>
<li>Assist in executing facility evacuation and emergency response procedures.</li>
<li>Document all incidents, hazards, and daily activities in detailed, objective shift reports.</li></ul><br>

Qualifications:</b></p>
<p>
Mandatory Legal &amp; Safety Requirements</p>
<ul>
<li>Unarmed Status: Must strictly comply with the requirement that this role is 100% unarmed at all times. The carrying of firearms or any other weapons while on duty is explicitly prohibited.</li>
<li>W-2 Status: Must remain a direct employee of Strive, working exclusively on Strive premises or in direct connection with Strive's business operations.</li>
</ul>
<p>Training &amp; Certification</p>
<ul>
<li>Must successfully complete and maintain certification in Strive's comprehensive internal security and EHS training program, which includes:</li>
<li><ul><li>Legal authority and limitations of the role (Observe &amp; Report mandate).</li>
<li>Verbal de-escalation tactics and conflict resolution.</li>
<li>Strict boundaries regarding the use of force and prohibition of physical intervention.</li>
<li>Emergency response, evacuation procedures, and first aid/CPR.</li>
<li>DEA protocols and controlled substance access monitoring.</li>
</ul></li>
</ul><p>Experience &amp; Skills</p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in criminal justice, occupational health and safety, or a related field is a plus.</li>
<li>Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to remain calm and de-escalate high-stress situations.</li>
<li>Strong observational skills and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Ability to write clear, concise, and objective incident reports.</li></ul><br>

Bonus Qualifications:</b></p>

<li>Prior experience in loss prevention, safety compliance, or an observe-and-report security role is preferred.</li>
