About the Role

We&rsquo;re looking for a detail-driven and motivated Office Controller to join our team. This position plays a key role in overseeing company finances, cost control, and financial reporting. The right candidate will take ownership of daily accounting operations &mdash; including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and tax compliance &mdash; while ensuring accuracy and consistency across all financial processes. You&rsquo;ll collaborate closely with project managers and company leadership to monitor project profitability, manage cash flow, and support strategic financial planning that drives company growth. 


Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight
<ul>
<li>Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.</li>
<li>Monitor and manage cash flow; prepare regular cash flow forecasts and ensure timely payments from project owners.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records and ensure smooth daily financial operations.</li>
</ul>
Financial Reporting
<ul>
<li>Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, dashboards, WIP reports, and KPIs for leadership review.</li>
<li>Oversee month-end and year-end closeout activities with precision and timeliness.</li>
</ul>
Project Accounting
<ul>
<li>Partner with project managers to monitor job costs, billings, and overall project profitability.</li>
<li>Support project budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.</li>
</ul>
Compliance &amp; Controls
<ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with GAAP, financial regulations, and company policies.</li>
<li>Maintain and strengthen internal controls to protect company assets.</li>
<li>Assist with annual audits and maintain organized financial documentation.</li>
</ul>
Treasury Management
<ul>
<li>Oversee company bank accounts and transactions.</li>
<li>Manage cash flow to support ongoing projects and business operations.</li>
</ul>
Leadership &amp; Team Development
<ul>
<li>Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff to promote professional growth and efficiency.</li>
<li>Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.</li></ul> 


Qualifications

Education &amp; Experience
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.</li>
<li>CPA designation preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience; construction industry background strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Prior supervisory or management experience required.</li>
</ul>
Technical Skills
<ul>
<li>Proficiency with FOUNDATION (preferred), SAGE, or Timberline accounting systems.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.</li>
</ul>
