Therapist Duties</div><div><ul><li>
Accepts responsibility for evaluation, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy treatment to clients/patients as prescribed by a licensed provider according to the Indiana standards of physical therapy practice</li><li>
Supervises and directs treatment by Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and supervises clerical staff</li><li>
Participates in operational aspects of the department including assisting with budget input, expense management, assisting in clerical duties, and cleaning of department as needed</li><li>
Participates in departmental performance improvement and quality initiatives</li></ul></div><div></div><div><br>
Communication</div><div><ul><li>
Communicates progress and provides feedback effectively with patients and families as needed in regard to their physical therapy care</li><li>
Communicates effectively with physicians and other prescribing providers regarding any concerns or changes in treatment</li><li>
Professionally communicates with nursing and other therapy staff regarding patient care as needed</li></ul></div><div></div><div><br>
Documentation</div><div><ul><li>
Completes patient documentation in a clear appropriately detailed, and timely manner that meets current standards and policies</li><li>

Registers all patients, gives new patients medical forms to complete</li><li>
Verifies patient demographic, employment and insurance information</li><li>
Explains billing policies, collects co-payments, refers patients without insurance to the office/clinic manager</li><li>
Schedules new and return appointments; explains registration process and gives directions to new patients; may explain procedure preparation to patients</li><li>
Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner; takes messages; directs calls to appropriate staff members</li><li>
Collects payments, writes and provides receipts, writes payments in ledger, balances petty cash, makes bank deposits</li><li>
Maintains a good working relationship with office/clinic staff members and providers</li><li>
