The Medical Assistant is a specifically trained individual who demonstrates expertise in dealing with patients during all aspects of care. Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the Physician or Physician&rsquo;s designee.</p><p></p><p>
Your key responsibilities:</p><p>
The Urology Medical Assistant supports providers in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role includes a combination of clinical, administrative, and patient care responsibilities to ensure efficient operations and excellent patient outcomes.</p><p></p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Assist the physician with initial patient consultations, routine follow-ups, and emergency visits
</p></li><li><p>Prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, weight, medications, allergies, and medical/social history
</p></li><li><p>Accurately document all patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), including medications prescribed, samples dispensed, and reported concerns
</p></li><li><p>Collect and process laboratory specimens, including urine samples (clean catch and catheterized) and blood draws; follow up on lab results as directed
</p></li><li><p>Perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, bladder scans, vaginal swabs, and administration of subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
</p></li><li><p>Assist with or perform urinary catheterization, including Foley catheter placement and changes
</p></li><li><p>Set up and assist providers during in-office procedures such as cystoscopies, vasectomies, prostate ultrasounds, and other urologic procedures
</p></li><li><p>Maintain and stock exam rooms, ensuring proper equipment and supply levels
</p></li><li><p>Support triage functions by answering phone calls, documenting patient concerns, and communicating with providers and clinical staff
</p></li><li><p>Assist with prescription processing, including sending medications as directed by providers
</p></li><li><p>Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
</p></li><li><p>Attend required training sessions, including OSHA/biomedical updates, and apply knowledge in clinical practice
</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and protect patient confidentiality at all times
</p></li><li><p>Communicate effectively with providers, front desk staff, and team members to support coordinated patient care
</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations
</p></li><li><p>Maintain attendance, appearance, and conduct in accordance with company policies</p></li></ul><p></p><p>
Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>
Excellent attention to detail, good oral and written communications skills</p></li><li><p>
Must work well with multiple tasks and changing priorities</p></li><li><p>
Travel between multiple sites may be required.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain licenses and/or certifications as applicable</p></li><li><p>
Experience in urology preferred</p></li><li><p>
1-3 years&rsquo; experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.</p></li><li><p>
