About the Role
A Welder is a resilient and team-minded individual who is responsible for assembling metal components with precision and efficiency using various equipment and techniques. Key duties and responsibilities include:
<ul><li>Reviewing and planning work order procedures; gathering necessary tools and materials according to instructions and specifications provided.
</li><li>Repairing and fabricating various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
</li><li>Monitoring the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage due to warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
</li><li>Prepare, assemble, and tack welding parts and surfaces to be welded.
</li><li>Adhering to all safety rules, best practices, and company standards.
</li><li>Maintaining, organizing, and cleaning equipment and work areas.
</li><li>Reporting faulty equipment or defective materials to supervisors when discovered.
</li><li>Performing other related duties as assigned.
</li></ul>About You
Basic Qualifications<ul><li>
Understanding of basic math including fractions.</li><li>
Ability to read shop drawings.</li><li>
Proficiency with tape measures.</li><li>
Experience in welding metal components together.
</li><li>Knowledge of installing and using consumables.
</li><li>Ability to set up and operate welding units.
</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Tack welding experience.
</li><li>Finish welding experience.</li><li>
Welding certifications.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Must be able to weld components in vertical, flat, or overhead positions.
</li><li>Manual dexterity and stability required for precision work.</li><li>
Close-range vision for detailed work.</li><li>
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
</li><li>Capacity to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
